thanks
If you have an account at Ableton and your copy is registered you only need to login and check the webshop.
I did, but didn't see upgrade to 9 available - maybe it isn't yet .. ?
If God did exist (and he doesn't) he would answer to the name of Maurizio

Ah - I think I see now.

Update to Live 8 (with 25% discount), then get 9 when it's out.

Says I can upgrade to Suite 8 for 224 euros - then free upgrade to 9 Suite (which includes Max 4 Live).

That seems like a bit of bargain, unless I'm missing something ...

And how much would Push be on top of this ?

One interesting thing I noticed from Live9 intro event movie: there are almost 1.7 million Live users now.

haven't read the whole thread, and i hate to spoil a good argument, but they say they'll announce the unannounced upgrade process at launch: https://forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=185933 "Existing Suite 8 owners will be offered an exclusive introductory discount on upgrades to Live 9 Suite, to be made available upon release."

BUT as others have pointed out, what is the logic of announcing SOME upgrade prices now and not others, and how can we decide whether to take advantage of a different offer now if we don't know the future price? This approach is a marketing fiasco....

Post

Well presumably what they have currently announced is the *ongoing* upgrade costs (always subject to change/amendment of course) but nearer the time they will announce a special introductory offer.

I wonder how many of those are Crack's and if that number is correct at their prices they will have their own version of Mark Zuckerburg in the near future.

CStump: I'd assume those are registered licenses, but what do I know :) I watched most of the video and IMO it gave a much better idea of the new stuff than just text feature lists I had seen so far. Audio to MIDI was probably what I liked the best. It will be interesting to take actual one instrument recordings and test how well those convert to MIDI. At least the piano playing in the video seemed to convert well.

It's a figure based on sales obviously, not cracks...

The interesting thing is that compared to previous statements about user numbers, this suggests that during the life span of Live 8 they have added more than half a million new users, in spite of the early bug issues, forum complaints, etc. An impressive success story!

In using that 1.7 million number, though, I would think they would have included every single Live version that shipped with a keyboard or control surface, etc. etc. So, from their point of view they probably think I have am FOUR users of Live, since I have my Suite8, and then got Live intro copies with apc40, launchpad and an old m-audio interface I bought for my tv...

You can all toy with it and guess the number but we won't know actually sale number ever really..

Anyway, I'm mostly upgrading to get the Max.
the differences are the same as they have always been. 3GB vs lik3 40Gb for the boxed.

you get EIC in the boxed, you get the full drumkits also which are like 30GB of drums.

Can't see anywhere on abe's site where the DL is the same as the boxed.
It looks like all of the packs will be seperate little (or big) downloads....I hope they have invested in a good server and some serius bandwith on ther day of launch!
