To people who bought this. Do you actually use it?
It's 50% off right now. I'm tempted. But I don't know if you can actually make something usefull or inspiring with it.

It's great for starting a project since it allows using certain music scales/keys, but then you can move it to your DAW as well.BMoore wrote:To people who bought this. Do you actually use it?

I've done that from iKaossilator to Logic.

I think I just got a new favorite beat making on the fly app.
Just wish it had a mixer, and the ability to tweek just the filters etc. after a recording.

IMO they took all the things that were great about K01 and got rid of them.
- Biggest issue: replaced sound on sound recording for note recording. Why? as far as I can tell, so they could have moving colored blobs play with your loop. This is a killer because sound on sound meant you could get some really complex loops going with a processor that can't handle 40-50 tracks of audio. It also made making your own beats much more practical, as you could layer bits of loops and hits a bit of a time to build up a pretty complex drum loop.
- Secret mode for stutter edits? nope.
Pros - it's an ok sound module and supports audiocopy. It's cheap. At best think of it as a rompler for your other apps. I don't love it the way I loved the K01 though.

You mean you basically want the Propellerhead Figure app (disclaimer: I'm not a huge fan of Figure, but it's almost exactly what you're asking for)

I picked up Figure for the usual $.99, and have only played with it for a few minutes, but it seems to be well worth a dollar.
I too have been tempted with iKaossilator, but each time I check it out when it comes on sale, I end up backing off. I think what I'm really wanting is an ideal x/y pad midi controller, and iKaossilator just doesn't look like it will fit my needs. (besides, I already have a few x/y pad midi controllers.

I have the same question- and thusfar, not tempted to drop $10 on this. Is anyone using it that can attest to it's value? Or should I just buy an album- (hey Taylor Swift is doing a pop album, hmmm
)

I had a Kaossilator Pro and traded it in after I bought iKaossilator. To me, it felt and reacted the same. Just as responsive and fun to play with.
