Ok. The fact that you couldn't find the MP3's makes me think that we need to have another way for people to easily find the demos because they ARE there. The way we do it now is that there are MP3 demo riffs within the full sound list on www.esoundz.com So, as you browse the sound list, the sounds that are underlined can be clicked for a quick downloadable MP3 example.floyd wrote:Ok, well you've captured my interest with the sonic refill. If I understand correctly you get all (or most?) of the samples from sonic synth/station, minus the effects, + reason-exclusive rex, redrum etc stuff - all for less $ than synth/station. Is that correct? If so, sounds good.
However, I browsed through the site and I found a grand total of 0 mp3 demos for sonic refill... Since there is no 'demo' per se, its very important to have some audio to go on. Any chance of knocking up some mp3s?
Here's a direct link: http://www.esoundz.com/details/viewDeta ... errer=home#
The examples are mostly in the NNXT section where the MEAT of the refill is. We also have a free demo CD you can have with a little 64 meg refill taste but there are over 2,000 sounds between all of the modules in the Sonic Refill box and the price is so good that maybe you'll want to just get it. If you wanted to get the equivalent to Sonic Station then Sonic Refill plus the Film Orchestra Refill IS all of the material of Sonic Station plus more. Good value.

Well I did find the demo mp3s, thanks Squids. They are a little hard to find, because if you look in each individual refill volume (1-5) there are no mp3s. Some sound quite nice, but its not really enough info to base a $180 purchase on. Particularly there are no demos of the drums, voices, and none of the reason-specific stuff (redrum, subtractor, maelstrom)
How do I get the demo refill? Wouldn't it be easier to just put it up for download rather than sending out cds? I mean, virtually all vendors of refills make demo refills available for download...
Thanks

The side needs some mp3 demo updates for sure. We have/had a demo refill for download. I have to check to see if it is still up there in the user area for esoundz members (membership is free btw). Anyway, we'll do more of those soon as well.
There are drum demos on the various drum refills. As for the main Sonic Refill, there are over 2,000 sounds and I believe that are at least a hundred audio demos for it. There is an audio demo on the demo CD of some subtractor and malström sounds though. We should post those (good idea).
We're going to make the mp3 demos more obvious as well. Got some updating to do. But, regardless of all of that I think that Sonic Refill has the most VFM of any SR product if you are a Reason user.

at http://www.esoundz.com/ create a user name, etc. on the community page. You can then download the demos from the community page (under freeSoundz).

i own sample2 xl and tons of vsti, i have my samples on a firewire harddrive and i do not feel like lugging it everywhere i go. by saying this sonic refills are the best thing since reason itself. i own the boxset, vols 7, 8, 11, and 13 and there is nothing like have a laptop, m-audio ozone and these refills. i am at the point where if sonic reality's name is on it, it is worth a hard look. i have own reason for since 1.0 (have 2.5) and never really use it because the factory refills well you know ... if you are in to a band sound (ie drums, bass, keys, organ, pad) r & b, jazz trad/smooth, pop, funk, latin sonic refills are the one. yes i am happy with them. oh yea, i got forgot the price, i paid $134 for the boxset and $40 for each vol. you can't go wrong. for $300 i have any roland, korg, alesis etc tone module. no i do not work for sonic reality but i am a real fan.

Thanks, I found some free sounds on the site. On the plus side I really liked some of the Dr. Rex stuff + the subtractor and Maelstrom demo songs where quite promising. But there is only two patches in the NN-XT demo, which are both synths. I am more interested in the real instrument NNXT samples.DKeenum wrote:at http://www.esoundz.com/ create a user name, etc. on the community page. Squids, is this stuff the 64mb demo refill you were talking about or is that different?
Sorry if I seem hard to please, but I just bought Reason for nearly $500 cdn and in order to spend nearly $200 more on samples I need to be sure.

Under sonic refill is a list of programs for each module. That could help.

The 64 meg freefill is too big to put up for download but it does include a few non-synth instruments. Of course, remember that if it gave too much away then at some point you can hurt the actual sales. It offers enough to get a little taste and the mp3 demos should really give you an idea. Beyond that there really aren't too many other refills that are made like this where you have an NNXT Triton and sounds for all of the other sound modules. If you were going to take a chance on something for Reason this might not be a bad choice. Either way, at some point we all have to take a little risk on soundware. But, hopefully that is one of the benefits of Sonic Reality as a brand name. We do our own consistent work on sounds and have done so for a long time. I don't think SR would be the exclusive company doing refills for M-Audio (Reason's distributor) if we weren't really good at what we do.
Just trying to give you a little reasonable confidence.
But, just email dan@sonicreality.com and he'll send you the demo CD free (even overseas) if you'd like. No prob. We have plenty!
Good luck and thanks for the other responses guys. We're always interested to hear from SR users here.

I apologize in advance, this is off topic.
Do any of you know where I can find the Beatles' Strawberry fields mellotron flute sound? I am really just looking for that particular mellotron sound...
Thanks

For Reason you can find it on the 60's & 70's Sonic Refill. There's also a good one in Sonik Synth 2 as well as the upcoming Tron Capsulepheeleep wrote:I apologize in advance, this is off topic.

Great! Hey, by the way, we've posted a bunch of MP3 demo riffs for various Sonic Refill volumes now on www.esoundz.com Check it out. I haven't even heard them yet myself (didn't do these).
Apparently these Sonic Refills are selling like mad with M-Audio. So, I guess we'll be doing some more too. They were premiering a 200 meg piano we did (that they show with their weighted controller). A lot of people are excited about that refill. It does sound incredible.
