. JJBiener, you currently have (that is before Radiohead74's offer) 9 bids up for a total value of 413 $ for goods worth 3 times as much. Please do not let the " good deal' side prevail.I cannot see what forbids Radiohead74 to make these bids.Maybe he can come forward and confirm these will not be resold if he wins which has not happened yet. If it drives the auction results up ,it is only a good thing,I have taken part in charity auctions where people were ready to pay more than street value for the items offered: I do not find it shocking. However that sort of cover bid is definitively frustrating for other participants and maybe next year the number of items that one can be the highest bidder for should be limited ( 5 iitems ?) to avoid this kind of situation. Luftrum, please note that whether I manage to win any of the items on auction or not I will contribute to a minimum of 50 $ to this charity call.JJBiener wrote:
No has spoken up about this bid, so I am going to. I don't believe this person is prepared to drop over $3400 to cover all these bids. I believe the purpose is to simply drive up the bids, and I believe that violates the spirit of the proceedings. Some of are trying to get a good deal while helping out a good cause. We are acting in good faith with the understanding that everyone else is as well. I don't believe this person is acting in good faith. I would like an official ruling on this before we move forward.

I had not seen your reply when I wrote down my previous post. I can only agree with your decision.Luftrum wrote:I understand your concern regarding the lottery bid above but I will not prejudice even though it's quite a lot of money. If you notice the auctions are only outbid with enough to win and the guy might be setting up a new professional studio and found a bargain! What concerns me is the bidding on several suites with the same purposes (several mastering bundles for instance).
Nevertheless, I will send the user a PM asking him to tell me a little about himself to clarify how serious he is with his bidding.

Is there another link or is it a local problem for me

I think this is a good point that needs to be emphasized. I would hate to see someone try to flip these on Ebay.satYatunes wrote:...
I would like to emphasize the fact that these products are NFR, hence one should bid on the item that they want to use and keep. ...
As far as the new, large bid. I would like to believe that someone in the business has decided to participate and chooses to remain anonymous. Earlier in the thread someone questioned if kennygarlic and I were serious about our bids. and I have been here over 10 years. Either way, I don't expect most of the bids to hold and I notice that for the most part the items that were bid on are items that are still far below value. Bidding 2 dollars above someone does not make me think they are doing this just for the charity.
All I need to be happy is one more VSTi.

Also written on page 1, just before the auctions:
Note to bidders: It makes sense to assume, that all products on auction for charity are licensed as NFR (Not For Resale) meaning you cannot re-sell the software once you activate the license. I cannot speak for all companies on the list, but you have to assume that unless otherwise stated it's NFR.

That large bid in question looked good until I saw all three products of 2C Audio (Aether, B2 and Breeze). Two of them are reverbs. Even Luftrum found the similar issue. Anyway, if it's genuine then good luck to the bidder.
As elsewhere suggested limiting number of items one can bid is an excellent idea, may be next year.

I don't see any problems. I own Aether and Breeze and I love both. And his bid on the 3 2CAudio products is still much cheaper than buying the Perfect Storm bundle directly.satYatunes wrote:That large bid in question looked good until I saw all three products of 2C Audio (Aether, B2 and Breeze). ^^ Ok. I was under assumption that Breeze is the little brother of Aether and if someone has Aether then they won't need Breeze.

I have given information about me to Luftrum as requested.
I am suprised that the amounts of my bids are questioned. If there are doubts that I am not able to buy all of them, I can transfer the money on a pledge account TODAY.
NFR is not interesting for me, I am not selling plug-ins. I own a portfolio of plug-ins of ca. 3000$ and still use all of my programs on a regular basis.
I purchased recently some plug-ins here. Look for the feedback and/or ask the people who sold.
I can understand that somebody who is willing to buy some plug-ins via this charity is only a kind of "enemy" for somebody who is also bidding, and bashing me without any reason and/or knowing him might help for his own biddings.

Please look at it from our vantage point...
Let us say you are a regular kvr visitor and near the end of this auction someone with NO posts (and thus no history) comes onto the forums and, in their very-first-post, decides to bid on over 3k dollars worth of items. That wouldn't make you suspect something is odd?
ANYONE can bid on these items, including people who would want to harm the auction (By bidding up prices with the fore-knowledge of them not going to pay).
We aren't bashing you for anything.. especially not for bidding on this charity auction! We were concerned if you were really planning on paying for these considering the situation (no posts, massive amount of items at once). We are HAPPY you bid now that we know you're real.
No one is an enemy here on the charity auction.. please bid as you.. well.. please.
Sorry it seemed a little rough for you, but welcome to KVR.
