I haven't used Beatmaker 2 for, quite,a while, but decided to give it a whirl the other day. For this composition, I used GarageBand, JamUp Pro XT, DrumJam, and BM2....all tracks were loaded into BM2, effects added, and mixed on the iPad....getting closer. Mind you, this hasn't been mastered yet, just a rough mix.

Sounds really good. Great playing. There is a audio copy in Jamup Pro? I need to explore my copy more to look into this sort of thing.

I'll give it a try.

How do you manage to record with separate apps? Do you just set same tempo in different applications and then copy the result to other apps?

I find the ipad very hard to work on for such things. I have tried a few times. Never succeeded. So I am impressed. hehe

Here's the rundown on this one...
1. Composed and recorded piano, strings, bass, and 2 drum tracks with GarageBand
2. Created drums in DrumJam and imported to GB
3. iTunes file sharing export to desktop...then imported all tracks separately to Beatmaker 2.... Added FX and adjusted levels
4. Recorded guitar using JAMup Pro XT and recorded into my desktop with Cubase against the backing track from BM2
5. Imported solo, track (guitar) to BM2 and mixed in. Exported as wav and audio copy into remaster for killer EQ

Good job! I wish I could play guitar as well as you! :-) I was never that good even before I started having problems with my wrists. :(

If you're already hooked up tp your computer, with Cubase, why go to all the trouble of importing things back and forth into BM?

Its easy for me to start everything mobile on the ipad....I can compose on the couch, in bed, outside...whatever. It only takes a couple of minutes to transfer everything where it needs to be from app to app on the computer and then I can go on throughout the day and work without being tied down to the computer. The guitar track took 4 minutes to lay down and transfer back into ipad...I like my desktop too, just isn't as convenient as the mobile stuff...then again, sometimes the mobile stuff doesn't like to play nice at times either....but it's getting better.

Please explain this part more in detail, how did you monitor all the other parts while recording guitar?
