Hello,
I am working on a project where I need to synchronize playback on 30 (pre-recorded) unique audio tracks that can be heard by 30 discreet performers.
I want the performers to be able to listen through headphones (via mp3 or some wireless playback) so that they have total mobility in the performance space.
All 30 tracks need to simultaneously start so that they are in sync.
I'm wondering if I could use 30 iphones with the WIST software to be able to achieve this synchonization?
Could I slave 30 devices to one master?
And is there an app that will hold each discreet track (30 minute mono) on each discreet ipod so that I can hit play on the master and the thirty tracks will start on the 30 machines simultaneously?
Like midi triggering a sample?
Any help or thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

My guess would be that you would need to use an application such as Auria or MultiTrack DAW to send out multiple channels of audio simultaneously. Unfortunately, I believe the input/output channel cap is 24. Assuming this would work, you could probably route each channel out into a wireless headset for each person. This would allow you to start the audio simultaneously for all of the channels. This would work for 24 channels, I believe. The claimed cap for audio-in is 24 channels, but I don't know of any sound cards that can do this. You might also try doing some sort of MIDI sync between DAWs and have a master device drive the other devices. Maybe Audiobus will offer something new? Not sure. I don't know if Audiobus will allow synchronization across devices.
