Another "revolutionary" systhesis technique lol
Doesnt Galaxy X do convolution synthesis similar to this?

Post

thanks ingo! now i cant wait :)

there's that entire AQWF(?) library of single cycle waveforms to play with!

very likely not...

Hey no prob, glad it can be used for something like this. Now, if I were to create a waveform with WD and export it with a really long sample length, will it sound dramatically different than one at something like 2048 samples?

Currently i have used 4096 samples mostly but i guess that for less complex waveforms it would be OK to use less. Anyway i think that 4096 should be enough for most needs.

+1

I really like Saurus, and I think RayBlaster is going to be great
So do I. Saurus is an awesome synth.

The example I heard from Rayblaster sounds quite different from Galaxy X so I would guess they are different enough.

I kinda look forward to trying the demo though I wish the concept were from another company cause Tone2's demo restrictions are so annoying that for me they are hardly better than no demo at all. I never got one sound I liked out of Saurus demo cause it shuts off so damn fast and then I have to restart my host to try it again!

If Rayblaster has the same demo restrictions, it will likely be even more frustrating as with this new synthesis method it seems that it will invite exploration which their restrictions do not allow. I suppose Tone2 may get enough impulse buys that they don't care but I have purchased enough software that I soon regretted so now will only buy software I can really test. That approach has saved me much money and meant that I have a high percentage of stuff that I buy that I keep, use and value.

Dude, are you still on OSX, or you on a PC right now? I think you said you're on OSX but my memory is pretty shot. Just wondering, was gonna give you a little something..

Ok, sounds good Ingo, is there any proprietary formats, or is WAV good?

Yeah I'm guessing it will have really cool audio analysis/resynthesis that you won't be able to test in the demo. Also it won't let you initialize or try many other functions integral to the synth. Then it will kick you off and take you to the website in 10 minutes.

...then buy it, or delete it. freedom of choice! at least there IS a demo (z3ta+2 anyone?).

i'm STILL waiting for cakewalk to get that working with logic; a non-working paid-for plugin is worse than a 10minute demo...

This is no official Tone2 thread so what do you earn by posting this here except an attempt to give some additional bad reputation to Tone2?

I was replying to someone else expressing dissatisfaction at the speed with which Tone2 are releasing new synths and yet not fixing old bugs or implementing oft-asked for FR.

I was engaging in a discussion.

If owning 4 Tone2 products but being unhappy with some of their practices means, as you insinuate, that I am only posting to give them a bad reputation, then so be it.

Perhaps you should contact a moderator to come and clean up this thread and remove the posts expressing opinions differing from your own.
Actually I read the title of this thread as "RayBlaster" not "I'm offended that Tone2 didn't give my support posts a proper look" thread. Thanks for sharing ingo!

The Resynthesis feature was one of the last added and is more or less independent from the "normal" waveform import. The Resynthesis results in a kind of granular synthesis.

For "normal" use you could either use one of the factory waveforms or load your own ones (not sure if this will be enabled in the demo version).
The presets contain additional waveforms as those are stored within the preset file.

For creating an impulse response you could load a single cycle waveforms based on your favorite synth for example.

another option is mention it frequently which has caused a number of companies to loosen demo restrictions... freedom of choice! ;)
