I don't... sounds like you have ghost in the machine!

Are you using a specific preset, or the default instrument/effect?

Anything.

@Ghost: I wonder if the oxygen 61 is not the culprit.

... only if you don't have one.

If it's set up as a controller in Live and auto mapping (blue hand) then it could well be that. So often (cheap) encoders just decided to start jiggling about.

elxsound wrote:2) Yeah, this part is frustrating for me too... I would absolutely love to see a multi-window version of Live. Mixer in one, and then either Session or Arrangement view in the other would be lovely!

I'd have 2 screens. One with half VSTi gui and other half MIDI sequencer/editor.. and the other session view.

When clicking on a clip in session view on one screen, it would load on the other screen showing the top GUI and bottom sequencer/editor. That would be boss. :tu:
Actually, not to derail BUT, I found that the some day whenever once released bitwig that do exactly what I wanted.. they even show a screenshot of the very layout I mentioned!!!

8) 8)

They also appear to have visible sliders which is something I also missed when using Ableton Live!

So, in my "I'm so lost in a good way in this crazy live thing" time in the last week + , I'm learning about warping.

Lemme see if I've got this straight...........not only can you warp/quantize/groove audio to your hearts desire, you COULD (and I haven't made a good enough of an example to really try it) make a "groove" based on your warp settings, extract and apply from a groove clip as you see fit??????????

NO WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Post

And.........drumroll................I'm throught the first live tutorial viddy!

Prolly the first one I got through w/o rolling my eyes very often (though the step sequencer is pretty boring for me personally)

Hmmmmmmmmm. That's strange.

I go to jam over progression "a" (regardless)

I record some guitar. I record some drums. I may or may not record some bass. I want more quantized. Now maybe some swing. I want to jam along with this. Maybe change the pitch? Maybe change the tempo?

This is too easy.

I for one am estatic that you finally found something that gets your groove going again. :band2: Great stuff.

If Hibidy is happy with a daw there's actually hope that humanity won't cease to exist when the Mayan calendar runs out. :hihi: The tide has turned.

Keep jammin'. :harp:

Exactly. And this is why so many whine about the few shortcomings. Once you get it, the thought of having to use something else is silly.

Quicky:

Does Max4Live work with the Akai "lite" version of Live8 ???

The only info I can find anywhere/everywhere states the version # e.g. "Live 8.2" etc., not which "edition". :?

thanks.

Sorry, no clue. I kinda think it doesn't though because things like "intro" and "akai" don't have racks/groups, so off the top of my head I'm guessing it's a full version thing.

How's that for an informative non-answer?
