bug fix # 1
http://www.xoxos.net/vst/sifft.zip
the envelopes were producing "pow domain errors" when the curve function was used.. i'd recently added denormaling to this old code and the pow functions were fussy about that.
i'd recently sent out updates on this code so i will have to revise all of that. i'm testing the solution for a while.
there is also clicking in fast attacks with sudden velocity changes.. it's an old se issue (se smooths velocity changes on note trigger) i forgot about when i was putting this together..

okay fixed
http://www.xoxos.net/vst/sifft.zip
fixed:
pow domain errors with envelope curve adjustment
clicks/discontinuities on attacks
(env and sifft SEM modules for SE users)
velocity is still smoothed on new notes which is elicited eg. if you sequence a low velocity note with a fast attack after a high velocity note but it's a continuous smooth now, backing off the attack some is still within the range of percussive.
but hopefully! that's it for crashes.

add mp3 demo:
http://www.xoxos.net/vst/mp3/sifft2.mp3
basic percussion samples, a few files scanned with synced and stepped lfos. the unidentifiable sweep and swirl are clap samples

Thanks for the modules, I had a quick look at them, haven't heard them in use yet.
Sifft is a weird one, not something I've used much, the most original design in this contest!
There's a midi seq plug in this contest, reminded me at first of your stuff, but much harder to get a drum thing going with it.

when, if you can tell?spacedad wrote:still getting domain errors after a while.(latest version)
the domain errors are from my standard envelope module (the one i've used for a year or so now). i recently added denormaling for long releases.. and some pow functions didn't like the denormaled number.
atm it only does anti-denormaling in the release phase.. which is hopefully the only time you get the error.
i can pull the denormaler = no more errors, but will denormal with long (~20+ sec releases with convex curves..) - i could also try the denormaler in the release calculation, which would be more expensive on every sample but may stop both denormaling and the domain errors..
i made it through ~2 hours yesterday with no crashes, but i wasn't using long releases..

it's when i move the curve knob, even with short release.on default settings.
i'm having trouble loading samples too,the waveshaper pack are 48k 24bit,they should load right?

Great...always when I try a plugin by Mr. Levanta, I can be sure that it sounds completely different than other plugins.
OTOS, I'm always thinking about how to use them in a song context, it's difficult...
