I have two prestige and two "premium" tools and I think it's a 1.5mm for that (might be two mm ) anyway, go to sears and get a set, I'm pretty sure they are not expensive. There are many you won't use but it's handy to buy the set. The Strat ones are going to be smaller so it's just nice to have them all.
Ah, good idea! It's a shopping weekend and I think there's a Sears on the bus route.

Thanks! :D :D :)

*edit* Nope, Sears is nowhere near the bus - so I hit StewMac since I needed some other stuff and just tacked on some metric Allen wrenches.

You might want to consider one of these first:
Hi Uncle E, I already have purchased a 22 fret Mighty Mite Strat neck here with ebony fingerboard that came with Jumbos installed.

After I got it I decided I wanted to try a 24 fret neck for the project so I then purchased a 24 fret ebony fingerboard from stewmac [unfretted].

So when [and all this has been sitting in my workroom for about 2 years] I actually get off my arse and find time to visit my Luthier fellow, he will be replacing the fingerboard, refretting and fitting the neck.

Its interesting to see you liked the Earvana stuff. I have a new nut here still in its packet.

I hope he has a planer, replacing a fretboard is a bitch as I learned the hard way. For the future Warmoth makes 24 fret necks for most guitars at a great price and imo they are some of the best necks in the world :)
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

He is quite adept, I have 2 archtops and he has worked on both. I have seen him take an old archtop to pieces and rebuild it. I am quite looking forward to having his input in the project.

When I purchased my neck I had not even heard of Warmoth, it was actually from one of your posts I learned of them.

For some reason when I originally googled ebony strat neck they did not show up.

I have to admit it is tempting to get another neck made up.

I am probably going to build a second guitar with a humbucker instead of P90's, but considering the production curve I work with I wont be holding my breath as it might prove to be fatal.

Woot, my tools from Stewmac showed up so I can start trying to set up the bass!

Also finally heard back from Rio Grande Pickups.. damn.. I think I'm going to do it and buy a custom-preloaded pickguard for my Strat. I love the sound of the Rio Grandes, a friend here in Austin has 'em in his axe and ddrrooollll...

Now to read up on setting up a bass.. :help: :help:

Crack is likely cheaper!

Big ass strings, dang.. looks like I need to adjust the relief as the neck appears to be a bit too flat. Well, it gives me something to do while I save up money.. :help:

Ordered another hand exercise ball for the office.. ad a combo string winder/cutter.. :? :?

It never stops.

Takes a while to get used to setting things up too. I'm STILL futzing all the time. It's only "right" once in a while. I'd imagine being in Austin, you'll have to make weekly adjustments once you learn it. Here, other than it going from hot to cold, we don't have much humidity..........and I STILL have to make adjustments at least once a month

I keep it very temperature-stable in my room because of the computers, but humidity.. argh.. not a lot I can do about that without a serious $$$$ investment.

Now that I have the wrenches and ruler, I should be able to learn what I need. I hope I can keep the faffing about to a minimum!

That's a fine looking axe. So one says 425 and the other says 1300. Um. I don't get it.

The auction has it bid up to $425 now and the Buy It Now is set at $1,300.

This guy takes wonderful photos. Not super thrilled about the color but since I've a good groove station going right now I thought how nice it would be to have a fretless.

When are you going to learn about non-Japanese Ibanez's?
