I am new here, however I've been reading these here boards for quite some time now. I am starting afresh with producing. I have been mucking about with a less-than-legal copy of Live 8 and some plugins for a few years now to learn the basics of production and sound design, and for the past 2 years in Logic Pro as well on my uni's computers. I am graduating soon, and I want to get serious about producing. I already have a job lined up so I will have some cash to spend, but I don't know what plugins or sample packs I'll need. I plan on wiping my hard drive aside from some purchased music and that's about it. I am a huge fan of disco(practically raised on the stuff), funk, house in all of it's variations, in general and this "complextro" thing that's been around for a bit. Big into chillout and indie dance as well. I would like to start producing something along those lines - mainly stuff that does well on the dancefloor (I don't think I've got the talent to produce music professionally, but I want to be able to capture that "vibe"). I have some musical experience, having played the piano, the saxophone and learned a bit of Bass Guitar, if any of that helps.
