Line 6 distributes Reason in the US, they don't own it or Propellerhead.
Thanks for that

The Variax appears to have died...lost all of its presets following problems with a firmware upgrade...sigh...
I'm going to lose it for months for the warranty repair
I'm tired of being insane. I'm going outsane for some fresh air.

Meh to eBay. I have this weird fetish thing that I won't buy a guitar I haven't sat down and played, been burned one too many times and now it's "in my hands before the cash goes out".

I'm sure I miss some good stuff, but I'm OK with that.

That said, those are some nice looking guitars. :hihi: :D

That is a nice piece of wood on that body.

Remove the existing pups and put a couple of P-90's in there and it would be good to go. :hihi:

Alas, as this is a new venture and all that, we've got to go with the name brands. If I do go the name brand route (which is seeming likely, I liked your point about the neck pickup), it'll be a Dimarzio John Petrucci Signature Crunchlab 7 in the bridge. I can't think of anything more name brand than that.
Understand fully (You know me, Get abit excited about things easily). As said you already know I would not turn my nose up at any decent bridge humbucker fit for purpose (Hence saying Dimarzio crunchlab or Duncan Distortion). I would have never guessed that the Dimarzio bucker would be the suggestion you took to the most :hihi: but it really does fit requirements/tick the right boxes: Tight, Articulate, Chunky/Beefy, Clear and well voiced :)

Re the bridge only route, It will IMHO look great in a 'minimal' kind of way, Give a clear indication as to what the whole point of such a build is all about whilst also saving on overheads. In that respect even though you know I am not a business man I can not see how that can only be a good thing Eric

Getting a few prototypes to NAMM and getting all the well known on the internet shredders/prog/djent style players to give them a try with the Kemper will really help spread some buzz me thinks if do-able as one look at hibidy's fave haunt 7string.org reveals so many people/players wanting insert at least 1,500 - 2,000 $ guitars as really there are not as many affordable but quality where it all matters 7-Strings around as it seems (Well that is just my own observation and yeah I am happy to buy a scheter 7 then upgrade and tweak/setup until just right for me, Not that many are into that sort of thing, Even more so players whom do not do engineering...etc.) hence why I am in for one mate

Cheers

Dean

Sweet! I'll send you a "Dean Special" with no bridge pickup whatsoever, that way you can slap a Bareknuckles into it as soon as you get it. ;)

I'm considering this:

I have a Fender Jag, a Fender Strat, and a few other guitars. This would be my first Gibson. Any opinions on the quality and tone of this particular instrument?

I don't know it. I love LP's, I don't know what they do with this vs those really really expensive ones.

Interesting. USA made hun? I'd be really curious.......

Yeah! I had heard that there was a period of quality control issues at Gibson, then I heard that it was over/wasn't true to begin with. I've also never ordered a guitar from Sweetwater before, and was wondering how their service is.

From what I've read, the internals on this are the same as other LPs, but they've cut down on exterior flourishes to cut down on the cost (i.e. no inlays, simpler paint jobs).

I love the sound of LPs in general, and read that this one is lighter (which is a huge benefit), but I saw a review on MusiciansFriend saying the sound quality was crap. MF reviews tend to suck, so I wanted to see if there were any opinions from the guitar junkies here :)

Post

I SERIOUSLY doubt it's a bad guitar. I mean, one thing about sweetwater is they check 'em out first (unless something has changed) so if there is something obvious I think they'll let you know before shipping.

MF is take your chance  The only reason why I use them is because of the financing card
