Fixed misspelled 'Oscillators' in GUI.
Thats not a bug - are you allowed to fix it ?. lol.
That misspelling prompted me to deduct 5 points off any vote I may have awarded it. But now you have corrected it, the original will become a rarity.
Hat's off to you. (if it makes anysense)

Theyre here! :)

The DC page keeps reordering the entries as I am looking at it.
I guess its kind of exciting that way!

Good luck to all!
As usual, it looks like both utilitarian and innovative entries are making a good show.

Critism coming up:

1) certain plugins are hotlinked to Win x64 versions only, so you have to jump through the developer webpage in order to get a 32bit version (if someone still uses that)

2) some plugins either need NET 4.0, MAXDSP runtime or an update to DirectX. If one does not want to install it, you're out of luck. But you only realise this after you downloaded the tool. Due to this, I can and will not test (for example) Hot Robot Vocoder (Net 4), Spectrum Analyser S8 (MAX DSP) or SoundRider (doesn't even start). Wasted points, really.

3) Certain links of the "The Penultimate Trilogy" lead to a 404 page. This ultimately kills my interest for testing, as I can't load it. Again, wasted points.

Else, I found some favorites already. And there is one tool where I might ask myself "why even OFFER it to the DC if it's discontinued right from the start" (unfortunately, that'S the C.Budde creation).

Some good entries, can't keep all I'm affraid since I have similar (commercial, crossplatform) creations on my HDD already.

While reading the last posts I noticed an ad with a christmas tree on it. The question is this; if you see the christmas tree does it look 3D ?
quite clever that. The ad fails on me (no money...ever) but the 3D is good.

Thats the ad over with, now back to DC Chat.....

Yeah Im going to try to remember to bring a NET4 installer over to the DAW with these goodies...
(A link to said requirements would almost entirely eliminate this minor inconvenience, for me.)
Fwiw- http://download.microsoft.com/download/ ... _setup.exe

So what is up with C. Budde's...? :o
Anyone try it yet?
Im just DLing atm, no testy.. :(

If any of you find a bug please post it at the 'Trans Computer Maschine' forum topic so I'll try to fix it during the voting period.

I just created an account for preset submissions which will be included in the final release: tcmpresets@gmail.com

Thank you all.

I gave it a testride yesterday. While the concept is interesting, and seems to somewhat work, it's buggy as hell and doesn't work with every tool.

For example:
I only wanted to "clone" the EQ courves from Leftover Lasagne's Pultec clone with ElectriQ Poshifopit. So I setup the Pultec as reference, and ElectriQ as target - got an error message and the program stopped. In theory, it should have worked.

I then tried an EQ I usually do not use: reaEQ as target - suddenly it worked, but not to 100%. From reading short reviews in other threads, there is also huge critism in terms of usablity. Only the "bundled plugins" seem to work, or rare selected ones.

I didn't go into testing comps or other tools that were provided (actually, there are bundled VST plugins as well, some of them even previously unreleased). I consider it buggy, or at least not fully fleshed out. The notice in both the manual and the developer page that this program is considered "discontinued and as is", with "maybe a chance for implementation into VST Plugin Analyser v2" (whenever that will happen) is definitely a major turnoff.

Basically, and from what I get out of the written documentation, that match tool was coded yet again for testing purposes, and to maybe get some funds to finance VST Plugin Analyser v2.

All fine and well - it's the choice of the developer. While I do like the concept of this program - other releases in the DC work right out of the box (with less bugs) and have a chance to see a future.

I'm sorry for the harsh critism, but we are talking about a challenge here. And for me, "Plugin Match" would get 1 point at maximum. The other entries just offer more to me.

I think you're right. Listing zamplers features is a bit off imho, not something the entrant created himself.
Its not new either, only the sfz is new. It shouldnt be bundled. Bit of a con.
I agree. Using Zampler as a plugin for the DC challenge is a cheap trick. I'd urge everybody not to vote for it. The sample content alone would have been a legitimate entry.

It this is allowed, Ichiro Toda should do a patch bank for Synth 1 and enter it into the competition......then he might finally get some compensation for one of the best free plugins ever released that will most likely live on long after the DC entries have been forgotten......

I also raise a vote for the removal of "The Penultimate Trilogy".

Reason:
- Download can not be completed, since files are missing (links lead to 404)
- the pack was rumored to have over 5GB, yet it's only 1,8GB packed (can't count the missing files).
- developer page pretty much nonexistend

The DC is running since the 6th Nov now, and if users can't test it properly, why allow it to the challenge.

Also another vote against the "BEAT Zampler". I don't even know if it's allowed to redistribute that one if you're not part of the BEAT magazine crew, or the programmer. SFZ's/WAV's would have been just as suitable. And TX16W is capable of loading them. Not to mention has better routing/modulation capabilities.

@krakatoa and anyone wanting The Penultimate Trilogy

the download link for tpt_1.0_02.zip on the DC page is incorrect;
http://www.anak-krakatoa.net/~downl/DC2 ... 1.0_0.zip2[/i]

below is the correct link.

The Penultimate Trilogy guy is trying hard though so give him a break :?

As for Zampler and beat ... isn't this just another monthly upload for that plugin to boost beat. attention? Great way to get more attention for sure.
