Hello!
I've been looking for a good vst for making realistic overdriven guitar sound (power chords mostly). I tried Shreddage but its library is too big for my laptop to handle - I've been running low on RAM which is resulted in DAW crushing all the time. So now I'm looking for another, less "heavy", virtual instrument with decent sound suitable for nu-metal-like guitar sound.
Any suggestions?
Light Guitar VST?

Great sounding guitar romplers will always = huge ram usage and huge install on your hard drive you will have to put up with less quality sounds or hope theirs a guitar simulating synth.

try patching a guitar pluck in synth1 or another cpu efficient VA.. perhaps with subtle phase modulation. process accordingly (eg. adding a filter for pickups)
