after going through the hassle of installing everything in their appropriate places, i can say there are few things that i encounter that are a bit of a turnoff which will help some of the other entries "rise to the top." and that's even before trying them out. hideous graphics and overly large graphics are a turnoff. i only have so much screen real estate. i am a satisfied registered SynthEdit user, however i hate when the plugin's title says "- SynthEdit" in it. ...and for those who created 32 & 64 bit plugins, great. if you go through the trouble of installing both, only one developer's entry gets extra props for having the plugin's title accurately display the difference between the two within the plugin. other FL Studio owners may get what i'm talking about when saving a plugin into the plugin database. when the 64 bit plugin is added to the database and it automatically saves as "plugintitle x64," it makes my day. i don't have to go rooting through FL Studio's folders to rename the plugin just so i can also save the 32 bit version.

Kamioooka is the best
! Really easy to make many presets, Huge possibility ! ( I began to make a bank : 70 patches )...and very, very low cpu use !
Space 360 is nice also ( I made 10 "vstpresets" for it )

Jeff, that's great. Have you already uploaded the presets here at KVR?jeff51 wrote:Kamioooka is the best! Really easy to make many presets, Huge possibility ! ( I began to make a bank : 70 patches )...and very, very low cpu use !

So much good stuff, but I have problems with Philteroid. I've tried 100 of times to get a useful sound out of Philteroid, but I cannot get anything... I pushed the random button for more than 50 times, and everything sounds thin and boring, sometimes it doesn't even make any sound at all...is anybody having this problem, too? It looks great, and I thought maybe it makes sounds like in French House, but I cannot get any useful sound out of it...

Sounds like you are sort of being a preset maker without knowing it. In MiniHost, you can program the randomizer to not randomize the volume, that way you will have less chance of no sound. Making presets is not easy. It's probably an art. That's why I could really use Jeff's presets for Kamioook right now, if it's free. In DC12, there's only one entrant for Preset Artist. Is this normal? Will other people start mentioning and sharing their presets?Tricky-Loops wrote:I pushed the random button for more than 50 times, and everything sounds thin and boring

Nope. I'm just wondering why I DO get great sounds out of most DC entries, but nothing out of Philteroid... I tried all different adjustments, and some doesn't sound at all, others sound thin and boring, others have volume bursts, and then there's no more sound at all...but I cannot hear any great filter effects that I've expected...

I heard Philteroid is sensitive to the volume of the incoming audio. The louder your audio, the more Philteroid respond.Tricky-Loops wrote:Nope. I'm just wondering why I DO get great sounds out of most DC entries, but nothing out of Philteroid

Jeff, checked your site out. I see that the Kamioook presets are not ready. Do you take request for free presets? If yes, presets for Boids and Particle Of God would be great.jeff51 wrote:No, the complete bank will be available on my site to the end of november![]()

Philteroid needs loud input. Increase the level of signal before Philteroid.Tricky-Loops wrote:Nope. My first impressions of the DC 2012:
Strings1: i love the Piano One, but this one is a little desaster,
the sounds are boring, more than a pipeorgan than a string ensemble,
the curios potis are indiscutable (please, try out Knobman
)
and for what you put a Stepsequencer in a String-Plugin ??
can not understand, Sorry
Philtroid: looks fine, but it chrashes my Hosts, (FL 10, Savihost, Reaper)
the Potis etc. are toooo small
eventually a Update make sense ?!
Vintager Toy: hmmm... looks nice, too, but i think its more a Loudnessmaximizer
than anything ... ?
azurite: nice one, sounds good, pretty Gui
aurelia filther: nice too, warm and interesting sounds are possible.
you must deal for a while with it
next entrys follow, im very bussy

Even with loud input Philteroid is suddenly getting quieter, then I hear nothing (for some ms) and then I get a volume burst; after this either it doesn't sound any more at all or it begins again.Phuturetone wrote:Philteroid needs loud input. I just tested the "Trilogy". And I must say, I'm a bit scared off. The first set (SUBSAHARIAN ETHNOTRONICS) is just... noise to me. Maybe good for video games, but definitely not my cup of tea. MARRED WATERS is way better, and can definitely be used for ambiences or BG stuff in music. But the major turnoff here (for me) are the constant uses of organs. DEEP SPACES is a bit more to my liking - something I can slice up and subtle mix to a production. But there is also a lot of stuff that just doesn't click with me.
It reminds me a bit of the ANGULAR MOMENTUM loops, but these are more useful to me.
Else, respect to the work. But not my cup of tea.
Now MODULOK is actually more to my liking. I collected a sh*t-ton of drum machine samples through the years, and this will make a fine addition for sure. Some crazy stuff in there (talking about the bonus loops), so they will definitely spice up things.
Haven't tested the C64 Synthesizer Session yet, but I love my old QuadraSID, I love my (still working) C64/C128, I love the SID sound in general. Also, RhythmicRobot is behind this along with Bedroom Producer. These folks are crazy, and they create very usable Kontakt programs.
SPeaking of Kontakt, I've yet to test the Total Composure Orchestra, but these are the same folks that created ENIGMA, which is an interesting piece of samplepack. I can imagine that there was a lot of work put in there. Definitely appreciate the efforts. But I'm unfortunately not skilled enough to get everything out of that thing.
It's still good to have some additional instruments to the orchestra samples that already collect dust on my HDD (VSL Opus One/Kontakt and Siedlaczek).
And I need more time for the RSMUS7 stuff.
Does anyone know if one can vote independent for Soundware and VST plugins now? Definitely some excellent sample content in this DC2012.
Maybe Ben should think about a seperate challenge, called "SDC" (for Sound Designer Challenge)? I'd definitely support that idea.

I remember another plugin that bore a similarity to a Sherman filter bank; that was a tough cookie to master too. I think this layout just needs perseverance.Tricky-Loops wrote:Nope. I'm just wondering why I DO get great sounds out of most DC entries, but nothing out of Philteroid

I'm still waiting for some feedbacks/experiences. If everybody says "great plugin, makes the greatest sounds ever", then I will think about if I could be too stupid to master it. However, till now it looks better as it sounds...if it sounds at all...GaryG wrote:I remember another plugin that bore a similarity to a Sherman filter bank; that was a tough cookie to master too.
