Hello all

After doing some testing I have found that the Hydra PL GUI is not working on a secondary machine that does not have synthedit installed. Answers I found to similar problems were of the "it should work fine" variety and were not followed up on.

My DC 2012 first impression has kind of been ruined, and I am very irritated about that. But if I can get the synth working fine on all machines, I will be happy.

Hmm. I presume that most developers have SynthEdit installed in their machines and so they would not have that GUI problem. Some of them should have at least said "No GUI problem here."

If some plugins require dotnet or directx or max/dsp or whatever, then maybe you could also require synthedit to be downloaded for your plugin. I downloaded and installed the demo version of synthedit and now your plugin's proper GUI is visible. In any case, this voter appreciates your time and effort, win or lose.

Gui works here in Reaper (Win7 32 bit Reaper 32 bit),

one thing that's odd is it's unregistered but there's a voicemute module, so it's 1.1 onwards which I thought couldn't properly compile into a dll without being registered.

If the problem is missing files, I could simply embed them in the VST.

Registering synthedit may fix the problem, but I don't want to spend the money unless I am SURE it would.

In my environment that can't display the GUI, Dependency walker reported...

Warning: At least one delay-load dependency module was not found.
Warning: At least one module has an unresolved import due to a missing export function in a delay-load dependent module.

GPSVC.DLL Error opening file.
IESHIMS.DLL Error opening file.

It loads fine but only uses the host GUI in FL9, XP, 32bit, P4.

I'm pretty sure I have tried unreg SE synths before that had a proper GUI, as there was a little popup message that came up. Hope you solve it.

Se 1.1 onwards doesn't allow unregistered use, it's only a demo.

I say this because Jeff of Se just said that over at the yahoo group.

I uninstalled the demo version of synthedit to see if the older version of your plugin's GUI would still work. It did. Weird. The synthedit folder is gone. I restarted Windows 7 thinking that the uninstaller needed Windows 7 to restart to delete residual synthedit system files but your older plugin's GUI still worked. The new version works too.

My guess is that the synthedit demo installed or updated something called "vcredist_x86" and that's what fixed your GUI problem in the first place and not the synthedit demo itself.

Cool, thanks for the update. I don't have the synthedit 1.1 dependencies installed here, and his gui worked, I do have SE1.0 portable edition though.

No L-Day entry this year, one of the old non-registered users.

The GUI now loads in FL9 (and I don't have SE)

Tnx for the fix, I liked your synth, hated that I couldn't vote for it since it was not working properly - but now it does

Hello Petrol Limiter. I have made a video of your Hydra PL plugin. It did not occur to me to ask you for permission before I made the video. I am asking permission now. I will remove the video if that is your wish. Either way, thank you.
