Im sure that tick wants it to be a top notch product with all the exposure that sytrus is getting. BTW, what if we *do* want to beta test the new one. is it too late?

SAP,
It's not really too late. I could include you for testing RC1, I'm currently busy integrating the new shiny Rhino2 UI. See teaser below

OK... here's another little teaser to keep you waiting

Sorry for the delay, but all this UI work is really tedious.

Outdoing yourself here Tick.
Those new graphics are going to make Rhino even MORE on the WANT list of potential Rhinoists.
Sorry I have not had the time to test the new beta. been busy with other projects, but I am a still full supporter of Rhino! Looking forward to 2.0! YEAH!!
EDIT: BTW, is there going to be a new default bank with a good selection from all the other banks for the demo as well? Just think there is a wider selection now to show off the Rhino.

Tim, yes, Daniel has been compiling a new default bank with a selection of the best, cpu optimized presets from the other banks.

I just hope we got more Daniel sounds in the new Rhino too. His old stuff is mighty tasty!Big Tick wrote:Tim, yes, Daniel has been compiling a new default bank with a selection of the best, cpu optimized presets from the other banks.

tim my thoughts are that Sytrus is a lovely synth as well but not really competition for Rhino at all... other than they are in the same marketplace competing for the buyers dollars....
Sytrus is a sweet fruit indeed, great sounds... Rhino is a raging beast roaring through the jungle... LOL...
I think perhaps the Cameleon 5000 could be thought of as a closer competitor to Rhino... but actually I prefer to think of all the synths as a team of good buddies working together rather than competing.. [i mean this in how i get to use them, not how well they sell...

btw I still intend to deliver atari's to you as soon as I can afford the driving time... just been so darn jammed for all this time. OT sorry...

Hi, everybody! The new default bank will show off the improvments made in Rhino since the first release. Patches from almost every bank are included as well as some from yet unreleased banks. To top it off, there will be more waveforms. That's multisampled waveforms.
If that's not enough, there will be a bank available that showcases these new waves called BnB2 at my normal place. Some of these are included in the new default bank.
After that I'll release a vintage analog bank with 128 presets and it's own set of new waves.
As far as Sytrus goes, it is a very different beast than the new Rhino. I think Rhino has the edge in flexability, CPU consumption, GUI and price. Sytrus has the edge in brite digital FM sound.

I think that Sytrus is competition to rhino, but I think that they sound very different. However I think that users who would buy sytrus would also be likely to look at rhino and vice versa
