This confirms the issues I was experiencing, which is a shame, because the sound is much better IMO.
There is another new oscillator object I might try, but Cycling74 are promising some new band-lilmited oscillator objects in the forthcoming Max update, so maybe I'll just wait for them.
Thanks for getting back to me (and btw, you're right to remove the older version before trying Poly IV, as they would clash)
cheers
Roger

New Pluggo :
jk_Satoo
http://www.sonoria.pl/jk/pluggox.html

"Satoo -
Multiband saturation with sweepable resonant crossover.
* Useful for general sound shaping or extreme destruction.
* The effect gets very interesting when you automate the sweep of the
crossovers while the resonance is set medium to high.
* If you set the high or low bands' gain to 0, it acts almost like a
resonant LPF or HPF, or both simultaneously. "

They're worth waiting for. I can't say much more than that...

Another from jk ... free soundfont player!
FluidSynthZERO v.01 from http://www.sonoria.pl/jk/pluggox.html

From the read-me :
" The FluidSynth SoundFont synthesizer is written by Peter Hanappe ( http://www.fluidsynth.org ) as free software distributed under the Lesser GNU Public Licence (LGPL).
Max/MSP integration was done by Norbert Schnell with Roland Cahen ( ATR IRCAM - http://www.ircam.fr/equipes/temps-reel/ ) , making this FREE fluidsynth pluggo possible.
Version 0.1
most bugs eaten.
ZERO means very basic - 1 part, no effects.
Full version soon : 16 part , 256 voices, reverb, chorus."
Remember folks, you're urged to make a donation for jK's 14 pluggos, see the site.

Hi all -
Just noticed that David Stanford released an OSX version of his pluggo Bacon back in March. The OS9 one ran ok in OSX anyway, but you can grab the new one from :
http://www.davidstanford.com/david/bacon.html

"Basically, it makes a bunch of distorted noise.
Bacon multiplies its input by a randomly generated value between -1
and 1. The user has control over the rate at which these values are
generated. The effects this creates ranges from random panning to
envelope following white noise."

on the german "keyboards"-magazine there are 5 free pluggos. you have to install the pluggo- and mode-demos. in pluggo the lfo, pgs-1, analogue drums and stutterer are full versions(no noise as in the (other) demos). in mode you have an additional synth: mode.3-way(great for moving pads). the only problem is since i installed this, everytime i open a pluggo instrument in logic(5.5.1. osx 3.4), logic crashes(even the runtime pluggos i used before). but if i open a pluggo fx first(before an instrument) there is no problem
but i don't mind because to 99% i use pluggo fx(due to high cpu usage).

New pluggo : RE-NOISER

"RE-NOISER adds noise to your audio - variable-rate random or white - and contains a filter section.
There are two modes for this plugin:
-The 'random * sig' mode simply multiples your original signal by a random signal (you choose the rate at which it interpolates between the random values).
-The white noise mode adds white noise at the same level as the audio. Because a really low bass sound might cause this noise to 'flutter', there is also a smoothing function to keep the white noise stable if you want.
Then there is a filter section which filters just the wet signal regardless of which mode you are using."
from WHEAT (Daniel Shannon) at http://www.angelfire.com/sd2/wheat/main2.html

Yep, works fine on OSX ....audio/fault wrote:did you already testet it on osx?
On his site he says that his pluggos are OS9 only, but they're actually all fine on OSX except for MUNGRAINER, which doesn't connect to the Percolate objects, and so will need to be properly ported ..

reposted from a DUC thread by "The Lone Roger" :
" I've posted a new version of my pluggo Poly 800 II emulation at http://www.wildfrontear.co.uk/plugs.html
It uses the new anti aliased osillators from Max/MSP 4.5 and now has full parameter automation, so it sounds and works better than previous versions.
You'll probably have to Ctrl-click on the link to download it, and you should download the latest pluggo runtime installer to use it.
Enjoy! "

Digging up this old thread to post about one new free Pluggo :
(Note that you can now get free Pluggo Runtime for Mac AND PC from http://www.cycling74.com/products/dlpluggo.html . Most of the links in this thread are for free Mac ones, but this new one is available for either Mac/PC )
http://www.tritonedigital.com/products.htm#phasetone

" PhaseTone is a FREE frequency-dependent phase rotation and correction plugin.
PhaseTone allows you to manipulate the phase of your signal across a user-definable frequency range, with options for creating different phase and time-based offsets (if desired) for the left and right channels of a stereo signal.
Similar to hardware boxes popular for correcting phase relationships between signal-pairs such as bass DI and bass mics and top/bottom snare mics, PhaseTone goes a little further.
By allowing the user to select the center frequency and Q of the phase process, PhaseTone allows for more creative manipulation of phase when mixing, producing effects with more EQ like results, increasing clarity and removing mud. And, best of all, it's free! "
ALSO....
since it's been 8 months since this thread was last on, some of you may have missed the free Pluggo Jr pack of plugs that you can get from http://www.cycling74.com/products/dlpluggo.html
