Good luck with that
And before anybody accuses me of piracy, I searched for "cubase7 xp" and this is what popped up.
On 2) and about the old mixer view, the way I see it, and based on what some mod said in Cubase forum, each block in the channel strip is loaded separately and is basically just another GUI for plugins they already had in Cubase 6. If you don't load any of those and don't activate any new mixer features, what you get is basically the old mixer.Compyfox wrote: 2) can the "channel strip" be used in "clean" rather than the offered modeling?
3) how is the routing now with the channels trip? (Cubase 6 it was Insert 1-6 -> Pan/Vol/Send -> Insert 7-8)
And what's scaring me off a bit:
- no mention of VST2 technology
- no mention of new and actual VST3 plugin sorting
- no mention of the old mixing console view
- no mention of hardware integration
- no mention of "unlocked" routing
- no mention of the automation control window
The page isn't clear, but a Steinberg employee says you'll be able to do this on 12/5 to get your license updated to C7.audiobot202 wrote:But when will this be? It's not clear when this is supposed to happen. The grace period is up to December 5th, so I assume that the license should be replaced now. That hasn't yet occurred.sqigls wrote:When C7 is released, you'll be able to click "Maintainence" in the license control centre and your C6.5 license will be automatically replaced by a C7 licenseaudiobot202 wrote:OK..how the frag am I supposed to update? I activated my 6.5 only on the weekend, but I don't see any replacement license on the dongle. Does it happen now? Does it happen for half an hour on December 5th?
That would be totally logical, but I've never seen a download-only version of Cubase! They always insist on boxed versions. Oh well, I guess we'll see...standalone wrote:I guess that it will be available to download in your account.bduffy wrote:I have another question (this is my first Cubase Grace Period):
So I just registered my 6.5. When Cubase 7 comes out, how do I "redeem" my grace period? Does Steinberg mail me a copy? Do I buy it from Steinberg, or am I supposed to get a free copy from a retailer (the only way to get updates in Canada)?

The new product looks really great but you can clearly see that they have aquired a bit more sensitivity to the MDI windowing complaints.SJ_Digriz wrote: What's funny is you can watch the Steinberg videos and you can watch them purposefully avoid doing an obvious action that would point out the fact they haven't addressed major things that have been on the list since SX.
Exactly, and notice when they open a VST editor, they don't change tracks,or open more than one. They always close before moving on. They don't actually show group management in the segement about group management. They just show how to create a group ... which is f**king captain obvious. If you have a feature about group management, show the management.LawrenceF wrote: The new product looks really great but you can clearly see that they have aquired a bit more sensitivity to the MDI windowing complaints.
All of the C7 graphics on their page have the window title bars cropped out. You never see the title bars or the actual main container window.
Sorry guys, what have they f**ked up? "Group management"? Just trying to understand.SJ_Digriz wrote:Exactly, and notice when they open a VST editor, they don't change tracks,or open more than one. In other words, they know it isn't right.
EDIT: I actually like the inteface/concept of the mixer. So, they went the right direction as far as I'm concerned. But, they screwed up the functionality, which is the Borg way.
So are you saying they fixed the problem, or they just showed 'sensitivity' by making it LOOK like it's not problem?LawrenceF wrote: The new product looks really great but you can clearly see that they have aquired a bit more sensitivity to the MDI windowing complaints.

Look pretty good though, some of the new features.
