re; Ignite Amps PTEq-1a, I couldnt' get it to load on FL9 on XP [32bit], even though there is a win32 dll. Unusually the 64bit is first to be identified and this somehow messes with the 32bit version.

Solution for 32bit users with same problem: delete 64bit dll.

Hi Bob,

thanks for the report.

The problem is related to the VST "Unique Id", as it's the same for both versions (x86 and x64), so some hosts will only recognize one version even if both .dll files are in the VST folder (even with different names).

I've decided to use the same Unique Id for both x86 and x64 versions of my plug-ins, to avoid possible DAW projects problems (plug-ins not recognized) in case of system upgrades, like switching from a 32bit system to a 64bit one.

I should have written it in the manual, though!

Cheers

Thanks for the info, it has never been a problem before with other 86/64 and if I rename the x86 folder as x32 to get FL to find that first it works fine (as long as I always select the first dll in the list). So it looks like an [alphabetical] naming problem of the folder that causes the problem in FL9.

And normally I now use PluginManager which can be configured to find 32bit only. Just forgot to add the DC Folder I have created.

Hi Bob. PluginManager seems like a useful utility. Got a link for download?

it may appear wordy and a lot of work on the website but actually it's a doddle to use.

Thanks very much Bob. I just saved the site page too, to use as a user manual.

Ignite Amps PTEq-1a has been updated to version 1.0.1.

Two bugs have been fixed:

1) There was a problem with the rotary switches, causing the GUI to not be coherent with the real parameter values, so, for some settings, the selected frequency was different compared to the one showed by the GUI.

2) "Boost", "Atten" and "Frequency" controls had wrong default values (ctrl+click settings). Thanks to tico-tico for reporting the problem.

I reccomend both Windows and OSX users to download the update.

Regards and thanks everybody for downloading PTEq-1a.
Feel free to post your questions and opinions, if you wish.

This plugin just moved into my top slot! This morning I was working in Sonar X2 with my Line 6 Hd500, and James Tyler variax, making a patch with the Plexi 59 amp. After I got happy I inserted your plugin in the fx bin and the sound instantly got warmer. Nice job! Guitar is all that's really important anyway.

Glad to hear that!
Thanks for the kind words :)

Hi,

PTEq-1A won my 2pts.
2 or 3 years ago, I would have given a better note, but I didn't really find benefit versus Sonimus SonEQ, which even has a more colored drive feature. Anyway it is in my top 5 while I guess people will like its quality and great GUI!
I'm also glad to give some points to guitarampmodeling people!
Thanks for your work.
