Hi,

I'm trying to find an app for the iPad that will support the following workflow:

1. Copy one or more sample libraries (Apple Loops or wav) to iPad,
preferably organized in folders (any means is fine, Dropbox, Wi-Fi
but not iTunes if it has to be file by file)

2. Browse loops from app and drag into song as needed (preferably
with time stretching to match tempo) to rough out a song idea quickly
while commuting

3. Export the partially finished track from iPad in a format that Logic
will understand

4. Take idea forward to completion in Logic using all my plugins and
softsynths

There are no budget constraints on the price of the app.

The closest thing that I can find so far is Auria although it lacks the time stretching as far as I can tell.

I wanted to check with you all to see if anyone had come across something that better fits the bill.

Thanks in advance for any help and advice that you're able to give.

Kind regards,

Joe

One comes to mind that I have and like, iKaossilator.
what's cool is all the samples it already has plus you can import many loops in iTunes, not just one at a time.
I just tried it with iTunes 10.7 (21)

I made sure to create the imported loop as an apple loop using the apple loops utility program and iKaossilator was able to adjust the loop.

iKaossilator allows 36 different scales as well.

This video shows how to get a iKaossilator project off and into Logic 9.

I am also looking for a way to create mix from loops created in other programs on ipad, for example export wavs per track from beatmaker 2 and then remix them live. Is this iKaossilator really suitable for that ? I'dlike to try it but no free version and interface looks very unfamiliar , looking more to some ableton live style workflow but simpler for ipad.. i see just Groovemaker from ik multimedia that cant import external content what is unbelievable for me , very limiting...

You may want to check out Studio.HD. I don't deal too much with loops and samples, but the little I've played with the app, Studio.HD seems really powerful in that department. It also has some really good effects and effects automation.

Thank you , i sow that video ,but what i see is just sequencer in looping mode , just what i can do in beatmaker and other sequencers also , looping on part of song and changing parameters , but main feature is missing , when i intruduce new sequence it shoud wait for start of bar and automaticaly start play , its like ju press play on track and it start blick as it is ready and on start of loop it start play , this way you can introduce multiple parts at once . Ableton live is very good example for this.
