I would not want to pay for an update just to get a new UI. Can you imagine the NI user forums if they came out with an update that was limited to the UI?
IMHO I think it is great that they are not rushing out an update just to be able to charge for it. Wait until they have some valid material. And if I get to wish for something that will not happen, I'll wish for the re-emergence of B4 in 64 bit.

All I need to be happy is one more VSTi.

Personally, I would like to see Battery updated. It's a little over-complicated for a drum sampler. Too many small menus/tabs, and the built-in browser is a PITA the ass to use--simply too small.
Overall, I like it, but it just needs an update. Although, knowing the way NI works, it will probably be discontinued in the next Komplete to make way for Maschine as their flagship drum sampler. =/

I see Kontakt 5, Komplete 8 and Komplete 8 Ultimate crossgrades are now all discontinued, multiple retailers are showing. Black Friday is round the corner, I'd have thought we'd be seeing Komplete 9 either after then or Jan, given these stock levels.

I think.. regardless of what they release, the NI user forums will be a sea of complaints.Rabid wrote:I would not want to pay for an update just to get a new UI. Can you imagine the NI user forums if they came out with an update that was limited to the UI?
And, for the record, I never said GUIs only in the update.. What I said was it would warrant an update.
Actually, Updated (larger and/or scalable) GUIS, Massive2, and Battery4 would be my picks.. but, like the rest of you, I have no say in the matter. This is a thread of no consequence. Make sure to give it the emotional value it deserves as such.

My K9 Wishlist:
Battery 4 - Due for an upgrade
Kontakt 6 - with the ability to load libraries designed for other engines (e.g. Play) and better organization tools (Create your own libraries, etc.)
Solid Mix Series and Reflektor as standalone plugins.
Includes:
Sessions Brass
Premium Tube Series
Would be nice if...
Action Strings?
Damage?

Sorry for going slightly off topic but,
I have Komplete 8 and Komplete 8 Ultimate upgrade. What version would I need to purchase when 9 arrives? ie Ultimate 9 upgrade or the full ultimate 9 etc?

i'd like to see them implement scalable upgrades...
i have komplete 7. i don't really want anything. but if they updated battery and FM8 w/some improvements and GUI improvements to other plugs then i might want one or two things.. but i don't want 50GB of sample libraries and all that crap.. all i care about is things working w/current OS and being bug free and efficient.
so, it'd be nice if i could either upgrade to the new Komplete.. whatever it is.. or pick adn choose a couple things and scale the price down for those update.
so, a la carte updates
a total dream i know.

Speculation failed me on this one. Like many others, I banked on the release coming a few months back. I half wish I had grabbed the half price upgrade deal last July.
But it won't kill me to wait a little longer ...

In my opinion this this "delay" has a negative impact -financially- for NI. I for one will upgrade to Komplete 9 whenever it comes out. But I refuse to buy anything from NI until then, because I don't know what will be already included in it. And I think, that I'm not the only one who does so...

You can do this already... Ie. I have komplete 5 which comes with absynth 4 but I needed a 64bit version and so upgraded to absynth 5 (or kontakt 3 to kontakt 4)...dayjob wrote:i'd like to see them implement scalable upgrades...

I would also agree with the idea of resizeable GUIs.
Besides this it would be very useful to finally get a soundbrowser included in the package that gives me the capability to browse and listen through all categorized Komplete9-Presets within one window.
So that one doesn't have to buy Maschine for having this feature.
To make every Guitar-Rig-Add-on a separate plugin, would also be very useful.
