it is too bad about the 32 bit only, I do hope they eventually get around to 64 bit.
Hopefully on or around the time LIve 9 comes out!

Both sound and behave completely different, just compared them. The Clariphonic DSP is impressive, in fact, I knew Greg would deliver but I never thought it would sound like this. You can gain a lot of detail with just a bit and transients feel more "expressive". It doesn't sound harsh and though you can probably get close with a couple of hi-shelves, the way both bands interact with each other is really good. The "jaw-drop" part is the signal doesn't sound processed at all (unless you go over the top with some settings), it sounds like you had a perfect session with awesome musicians/singers, a great room and top-notch gear. It's funny how the "focus" knob can give you a great tone balance while the "clarity" knob, set to "sheen", hides away all the mudiness and brings things up front and it doesn't sound "forced". Man, I *love* it when I see that people 'get' what Kush Audio is up to with our weird, incomplete, slightly vague interfaces and controls 
If you're trying this plug and not sure where to start, stick it on your mix and do the following:
1) set Focus to Lift & Tight, 9 o'clock
2) set Clarity to Shimmer, 10 o'clock
3) mix as usual for an hour
4) Bypass the Clariphonic DSP
5) feel sadness in your heart
It takes time to really get sensitized to how powerful this eq can be at modest settings.
On the flipside, take a muddy vocal and do this:
1) set Focus to Open & Diffuse, 8 o'clock
2) set Clarity to Presence, slowly crank it up to 3 o'clock
3) note how it doesn't just get louder, it comes up and forward
4) settle in between 10 and 12 o'clock
5) smile at how the vocal sits easier in the mix

I'm using Live, while I have not used any presets.. I do hear quite a difference when tweaking the knobs and switches.parma wrote:just downloaded demo - selecting different presets doesn't seem to change anything

yeah, I should have clarified that moving knobs/switches does change the sound. All the presets take it to the same state however. I was hoping to switch between presets to audition how different settings change the sound. i'm really looking forward to trying this out. my only concern is that i'm a bit skint and it will probably be a must have from what i've heard from other folks!
as far as 64bit goes - it's not the 'new standard'.. yet. it seems to me that people are jumping the gun a little by going exclusively 64bit.

I see the same presets problem as parma reported above in DP 7.2.4, OS 10.6.8.
The first four presets seem to work, i.e. the settings change visibly. After the fourth preset in the list, Warm Limiter, clicking on any preset below it makes no change in the visual settings, nor can I hear any change in the audio.
If I go back to the first preset, Start Here, and then click any preset after the fourth one, I get one and the same settings in the GUI, corresponding to to the Warm Limiter one.
Operating the controls manually work as expected.
Obviously a bug here, at least on the Mac.

"Support" and "work" are very flexible words in this context.
The plugins may load, but the bridging f*cks up the workflow like nothing else.
Right-click on the plugin in the FX browser. Choose 'Run as' and then 'Embed bridged UI', and it behaves quite like 64-bit plugins do with no "stay on top" sticking needed.
Not my experience. I've got more 64-bit plugins randomly crash my hosts than the 32-bits in Reaper 64-bit. Works very well for me. Just another opinion.Also they'll randomly crash Reaper at any time.
Maybe not soon, and maybe not if only one plugin is loaded and no song is going on. But they will.
I've been using Reaper on Windows and Mac systems now since the free v0.9x Beta days, I know its problems and its strengths. Bridging x86 plugins into x64 Reaper is NOT one of its strengths.
Then again, I've also been waiting for the infamous 64-bit version of UBK-1.
Clariphonic seems nice. Will try it out today and probably buy regardless of bit depth.
