Just got an ipad4 but I wanted to know how on earth do I connectt to the iconnectmidi?.

I'm really confused on what I need, can anyone help?.

I believe all you will need is a lightning to 30 pin adapter. That way you can use the cable that shipped with the iconnectmidi.

Can you link me to said cable?. Can I use an unofficial one just need to see what it looks like.

There are two lightning to 30-pin adapters.

These seem to be only sold in Apple Stores right now. Maybe by December they may start showing up in other stores.

I am using iConnectMIDI with the new iPad and I went a different way. I bought the Lightning to USB Camera Adapter. Then I used a USB Type A to USB mini-A (this end plugs into the iConnectMIDI). I already had one in my music bag, though not sure where I got it. Works GREAT!!!

So there are two possible choices. I decided to go with the USB/camera cable for a few reasons. It was available locally at Best Buy (I don't have an Apple Store nearby). Plus, I realized most of what I connect to the iPad are USB anyway. The only 30-pin device I have is the iRig MIDI which I don't really use.
