Could anyone recommend me some good soundsets for it (no matter if free or commercial)?

You should have a listen to the Galbanum Piscis Rapture add-on demos.
Some of the most amazing pads that I have heard.

And I have demo'd/own just about every single freeware and payware pad synth, pad samples library out there.

My main tools: Kontakt, Omnisphere, Samplemodeling + Audio Modeling. Unify = godsend. Tari's libraries also rock.

I will thanks, someone mentioned Galbanum for the waveforms as well. Installed the muz3um bank just now and some really nice leads in there. I know everyone was raving about this synth a few years ago but compared to the current crop of synths it still sounds remarkably good! :)

Not so much for the sound though (it sounds good), but for the fact that this is a total beast in terms of functions. Hardly ever seen a synth, plugin or hardware, with so much stuff, 2 filters per oscillator, 6 oscillators total, voice stacking, tons of modulation slots, X-Y-pad, step generators and what not. And the envelope generators are grand, didn't see that on any other plugin as well.
A better way to think about is is 2 filters per Element, 6 Elements total. You can achieve up to 9 oscillators with multi-mode in a single element. Or unlimited oscillators per element if you build them into a custom sfz instrument. It's really handy if you wanted to create huge stacks or multi osc sounds.

For the Twisted Oscillators PA Rapture set, used custom sfzs that I had about 1000+ oscillators per element and bounced offline. Then feed those samples back in as sound sources for that Rapture set. Think Rapture-centipede.

Also, each element can chain into the other, or ring modulate the previous. (right click Element tab)

I was able to download without registering at the above URL...

Thanks for the hint :-)
Downloads on PatchArena don't require a login or register. Only for uploading. The download links are also hot-linkable for easy sharing.

Can't see anything special with Rapture's envelopes. Absynth has the same thing, Zebra too, and other synths too...
One cool trick with Rapture's envelopes is the Retrig StepGen trick. Where if you control + click a StepGen, when that step is reached it will re-trigger the envelope shape.

Rapture's envelopes are elegant. Especially if you master the hotkeys and menu functions.

Velocity and Keyboard tracking per segment is also unique, or at least it's implementation of it.

Muz3uM for Rapture

Syrath's Rapture Pack

Awesomeness. :)

Some of the wavs don't load in the twisted oscillators bank though, is that a windows 7 issues?

Also are there any step generator presets or is it best to save the ones you like from the patches? I didn't know you could do this until about 10 minutes ago!

Any of you guys buying for mac?

I just tried my installer and it won't work. Apparently they have never updated their installers for Lion? Still? Jeez...

Rapture is a great sounding synth, too bad it is being neglected for us newer Mac owners.

Perhaps cakewalk will change that? Guess I shouldn't hold my breath...

Hi Meffy
thanks for you kind words, I'm really glad you like these presets

Rapture don't work with Lion or Mountain Lion.

You can check the forum for instruction to modify them , to use it maybe

but it isn't updated because Rosetta don't exist anymore in OSX

Did you install the free expansion pack 1 & 2? My guess is we used some of the new wavetables and samples from that pack.

Yeah the Step Generator and Envelope presets are pretty awesome. Along with the loading in the menus, you can also drag and drop the presets onto the interface. Handy.

i bought rapture from cakewalk and although on the download page it say's, download installer version 1.2.2 i could only download 1.2.1 which crashes buzz a lot. :?

although.that is maybe because i used standart stereo waves for the wavetable...

Afaic, you can get the update here: http://www.cakewalk.com/Support/kb/read ... 2007013167 I have no idea about what it does or what it fixes though. V1.21 is pretty stable for me.
