The Waves License Center cannot Synchronize the licenses on my Waves account and my computer. It recognizes my password (when I put a wrong one it's rejected), but afterwards it says that there is a connection problem. Is anyone else experiencing this? It never happened to me before, maybe it's a server problem.

Post

Wow, can't tell you since I don't have my s/n yet, but server problems seem to be their specialty that the moment.

Funny how we get the emails straight away and their account page works without lag. The licencing must be a third party or it is done manually.

In Reaper it loads properly however.

odd.
Hmm, not tried Orion yet. Try running Orion in Administrator :)

Doing that in Renoise at least made the plugs available - with full GUI.
A One Knob just crashed in Renoise when I tried to bring up the GUI, although the control was there to be used via Renoise.
I managed it to work in Renoise (and Studio One) - just look a page or two back for my solution.

I've lost interest in it...and Waves plugins in general. Good promotion Waves. Give the marketing department a raise.... :tu:
Exactly my thoughts - I don't think they could make it all any more complicated. I just wonder why do they stick to this stupid shell system - it causes (and afaik always caused) a lot of problems, not providing any benefits to user. This one knob was free so I could take it for that price, but now I know I would never buy anything from them if they can't make it any easier to install etc

NI uses service center app to authorize plugins, but the plugins themselves are individual dlls and that NEVER caused me any problems.

Post

I've been waiting for 48 hours. Received just marketing mails that I never signed up for by the way.

Since the authorisation process of this freebie seems to be complicated too, I'm not interested anymore.

Post

I got an email saying tbeir server is overloaded and another mail with links and serials would follow.

Yes.. I favor this method of copy protection. The NI Service Center has been pain free for me. I also think IKM's own service center is just as easy to use. Just enter a serial number and click the authorize button.. done.

And all of the plugins are individuals... not in some 800 MB jumbo large shell (if you get the offline version).

Yes we can!

If your audio computer cannot connect to the internet, you will need to activate your license on a USB flash drive, using a computer with an internet connection.

1. Access your Waves account.

2. Click Register Products > Register New Product on the main menu.

3. Enter the serial number.

4. Click Submit.

5. Download and install Waves License Center to your internet computer using the Waves Online Installer (WOLI).

6. Launch Waves License Center.
On Windows, via the desktop shortcut or Start Menu > Programs > Waves.
On Mac, via the dock icon, or the following path: HD > Applications > Waves > Applications > WLC.

7. Connect your USB flash drive.
For both OS X and Windows compatibility, your USB flash drive must be FAT32-formatted. For more information, click here.

8. Log into Waves License Center using your Waves account information.

9. Your license will be waiting for you on your License Cloud.

10. Under Select Licenses, choose your license/s.

11. Under Select Destination, choose your USB flash drive.

12. Click Send Licenses.

13. Download the offline installer, located below the online installer on our download page.

14. Transfer the installer to your audio computer and run it. During the installation, select only the bundles / plugins you wish to install and for which you have licenses.

15. Finally, connect the activated USB flash drive.

Your Waves product is now installed and activated.

...that can't be accomplished at this time—can't get through step 2...

I've been trying to authorize my Waves Platinum bundle since I bought it Friday. The server times out every time.

The funny thing is that I tried the "contact technical support" link, just now. It told me I needed to register my product first, which is of course what I've been trying to do...then it teased me by supplying a field to enter my license...which also times out...

@highkoo: I understand the frustration but you're right, the post didn't belong here. Sorry about that.

Why? It isn't doom and gloom for software sales because Waves chooses a difficult system to copy protect their products. This is just one developer with this ridiculous method of CP.

I haven't had this registration/CP problem on U-he software, Synapse Audio software, Native Instruments software, IK Multimedia software, Cockos software :ud:, Ableton software, FXPansion software, CamelAudio software, Applied Acoustics Software, Voxengo software, Rob Papen software, Nomad Factory software, Ohmforce software, etc, etc; all other software I own.
