Oh forgot as it played/plays really well but weighs a damned ton; The UK PRS SE Tremonti, Would make a really great clean to shred machine for those without a mangled back like me, You know you could actually play it stood up for longer than half an hour. Probably the nicest SE I have played from memory. The bridge bucker would need swapping out though (for a change
) but the neck bucker with the tone rolled off does liquid with clarity for sweeping/tapping just fine. All just ImyveryhumbleHO

About guitarstores and fixing guitars..
http://www.richardsguitars.co.uk/ is a real (physical) store where you actually gets asked if you want to chat with Richard when you enter the website if you have any questions to ask about -anything-
When you buy a guitar they check it out to see it's not a "reject" case and they set it up to perfection. So even a cheap guitar will come out good from them.
I'd love to become a 'luthier' and be able to fix guitars for a living. Too bad this town already has one ... and it's not big enough for two! He has a big collection of funky guitars. Well worth checking out! http://www.mabass.se/index2.htm
Im like a kid in a toystore when i get there ...

Alot of my fave bands are from your own hometown or at least country. Most have used used Fredman (Its 'In Flames studio' or whatever now since they bought out Fredrick), Dan Swano (None more legend \m/) or Sunlight (Yep Mr.Entombed's studio). I do plan to visit one day as the climate is more to my tastes also crackbaby
All the best your way

PS: Oh and tappermike btw man, digital dsp amp thingys with 'feelings', Like the exact opposite of Roland's Cube thing is one of these: - Have to wait until new year before the range is released properly and I know I should post this in the 'your next amp' thread but you know we crossover. I want one of these when I can get the head version

Interesting demo .. i find it pretty easy to spot when Rob is not convinced. Maybe i see wrong though.. The highgain at the end was rocking though! But as he said, clean and lead is the easy part .. modeling crunch is the hard one (which i find my Yamaha TSR10 to do very well in my apartment
)

Yes indeed it's a gift, of sorts, good call.Hink wrote:well I'll say it, congratsbduffy wrote:I just found out my next guitar is a Les Paul Traditional...!I'm not a Les Paul dude as everyone knows but you must be excited, the way you worded that sounds like it's a gift?
The lead singer of my Arkana project, we were discussing the sound of the next album, and he was like, "you should be playing a Les Paul" and admonished me to go try one out and call him, after which he ordered it (he lives out of town), and all I have to do is walk in and pick it up. Crazy!
I've never been a Les Paul kinda guy, but in recent years, I've grown tired of trying to coax modern, high-gain sounds out of my Strat. After trying it out with my amp and an MXR Fullbore Metal pedal, I was very impressed. Have to get used to the girth and weight of it, though!

I was circling around a Blackstar for a few weeks when I was looking for a low-wattage, home-friendly solution, but I didn't quite pull the trigger...hibidy wrote:@Blackstar: It's what I'd get if I ever get a real amp

Nortons are as good as it gets for any body wood IMO. I've got a Norton in the bridge in almost all my guitars that have a humbucking bridge pickup; the only exceptions are my Ibanez Artist 12 string (I use a Duncan APH there) and my Gibson doubleneck (stock humbuckers on both necks). Nortons have tons of personality; something I find missing with really high gain pickups.Uncle E wrote:Personally, I don't think there's a better pickup for a basswood body, Floyd-equipped guitar than the Dimarzio Norton. That's as good as it gets.Crackbaby wrote:Do you guys have any preferences duncan vs dimarzio?
I like the Virtual Vintage pickups myself- the 54 Pro's one of my favorite pickups. I've never been that big on the HS series, though.I also like that Dimarzio has a lot of models that skate the line between humbuckers and single coils. EJ Customs, Humbuckers from Hell, Virtual Vintage Heavy Blues 2, HS-3's, etc. The HS-3 is one of the best bridge pickups I've ever used, be it humbucker OR single coil, and I'm sure that's reason Yngwie depended on it for so long (and would probably still depend on it today if not for lucrative endorsement deals).

The bass is in the "too good to be true" category so far. It's SILKY smooth!!!!!!!!!!! Sounds good to me and I had my fretless-on in less than an hour. Still going to take a while to do the vibrato correctly. I'ma show the pic again to make a point......

This is both fantastic and weird at the same time. It's wonderful for finger style. Impossible to describe but it's REALLY comfy having the flexibility of where to place your thumb (even with string floating which is important). But, you can't slap with it ( total DOH for not thinking of that) It's fine, as that is not what it's for, but still.
It's really sexy. FAR better up close and personal than pics so do it justice. The tuners are really COOL! Now I want them on everything
Bad: There are some blemishes on the neck edges
This is a real big problem with ibby QC. I've seen this over and over and it's not limited to a particular factory. I'm not going to be happy with that black bridge though, I KNOW it's going to chip and scratch. And I need a case for it (I'm definitely in TIRED of spending want to take a break mode
) Haven't found a fatal flaw though, for under 600 it's lookin' good!
No pics, it's raining and my camera blows chunks for indoor shots.

Dean,
I watched about ten minutes of that video. I've been up for over 26 hours now and I need to go to sleep.
