My vote is in. I might try to add some comments in this thread later on. I have no opinions about the limitations ( or absence of) that should apply to this monthly contest. Just glad to take part.

Comments on my choice this month. The whacking, rattling, thumping ,hitting, knocking , shaking is over.
1-rp314 -Tickled part of my brains most music does not reach. Thanks for that.
2-JJBiener - Well balanced .Clever .Satisfying.
3-gigue07 -Nice whiff of the 70's. Anyway that's how I feel about it. A bit short though: it might actually qualify as a quality.
4-GMoneh - Good choice of samples, effective. To the point.
5-Zombie Queen -It took me some time to decide whether a running engine is a percussive instrument, I still do not know . Who cares? Nice atmospheric piece.
6-DH Miltz- Evocative subterranean sewer atmosphere. Take Three = Third Man?
7-peppy197 -I am sure this does not comply with the rules: too much harmonic content. Still this is the maddest submission of this month therefore to be encouraged.
8-Mr Natural -Sound track for a R.Crumb's flipbook type animation. Hitting a soft spot with me.
9-RuediRena -Psycho toy soldier fitted with everlasting batteries. Perfect achievement.
10-evo2slo- I cannot help but picture ½ dozen colourful tribesmen from all over the world packed up in a small room having a great PARTY.I want to be invited !!

I really like that--once in a while go total whack and offer up a five minute or one where the submissions have to be exactly something like 3:06342--and stuff. Otherwise, the general three minute limit makes sense when you add up all the entires and the time it takes to listen to them all.D.H. I think it'd be fun to even do a month where the limit is 20 or 30 seconds! One agency told us an advertiser wanted a FIVE SECOND logo theme--kinda like the BBC or other companies play when they show their logos on TV and stuff (I've yet to hear back--I used a 4 second tympani role and a xylophone
We used to have a 1 minute limit, and that was fun too!

max. 30 sec. was a fun theme some months ago. max 5 sec could be cool too : )I think it'd be fun to even do a month where the limit is 20 or 30 seconds! It would be interesting to see what other would say, I reckon an explosion is a percussive event, and an engine does a lot of boom.ClaRago wrote:whether a running engine is a percussive instrument, I still do not know

I agree somehow, however some of my friends (mainly bikers) still think their engines produce melodious sounds .="Zombie Queen

Have a couple more to listen to and will vote.
Might not have time to write reviews as most of them are blocked at work since the last round of site blockings, so I can only listen to them at home now.
