For crying out loud Cakewalk: create a new installer. The onus is on you, not tech support and users. Just make this have even the slightest priority and it'll be done quickly. Or did your only Mac user leave the company? Support the platform or don't.

@Chad:
Sent you a PM asking for directions to install Rapture on 10.7.4 iMac from a working install on 10.6.8 MacBook Pro.

Also : where the heck do we put the free (legit) Rapture banks and patches I find online?

I didn't get your PM. But just PMed you with the instructions. For OSX the Rapture patches/content goes:

HD/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Rapture Content

Could I get these instructions as well?

I just put an SSD in my Mac and installed Lion. I still have my 10.6.8 hard drive with Rapture installed that I can connect to the computer.

Anyone know if these instructions would also work for Dimension Pro?

Thanks...

Yes they do.

Thanks!

I'm still in the process of getting my DAWs installed, but I will let you know if this works with Rapture and Dim Pro.

I appreciate the help.

Check out the write permissions for the directories. Lion sets them to read-only frequenly. This causes problems with variuos synths.

Workaround for The Rapture--Getting Saved

So, I've found a workaround for this bug I'm experiencing with Rapture in Mountain Lion. It's on the previous page, but for clarity's sake, I'll quote myself:
audientronic wrote:But one major bug I am experiencing is that if I use more than one instance of Rapture, Rapture loses the links to all of the asset files, even if I go back to the first instance, the preset browser is empty, and attempting to manually load a preset leads to error messages that Rapture cannot find support files for that program, etc. So all the links are lost, which is kind of a headache.
Here is the workaround:

In a new song or project, you lay down an instance of Rapture, close the instrument panel (if it auto-opens) without touching anything or choosing any patches, etc.

Lay down another instance in a new track. And close that without touching it.

Do it again and again, until you have as many instances as you want or more than you think you will need.

Save and quit without ever calling a patch.

Now you can re-open the song and work with all the instances without any reference links breaking, and without the Patch Browser going blank.

Save it as a template if you want, go nuts. Or I can just go nuts, since I'm the only one right now who has reported this bug. ;)

But hey, everything works now! :)

aMUSEd wrote:Thanks Chad - so once installed how do you register it though? It seems it's the place where the registration is supposed to be saved in PPC OS-X no longer exists
If products are installed on mac os x leopard first, then transfer each component item to the new folders of mac os x lion everything just works. The transfer of each component of dimension pro and rapture pro is time consuming but it does work. I surprised that Cakewalk will not just show its costumers this work around.
I am using Mac OS 10.7.5 and both work fine.

So did anyone get this to work on Mountain Lion? I have Dimension Pro too now.

Hey,

I'm still around. :) Replied to your email and PM. Thanks. My solution requires copying a working installation to the new OSX computer. You may also want to read this post here, from Josh who is a QA Engineer at Cakewalk with another method that has worked.

Cheers!

This method seems so easy but doesn't work, it still won't accept my serial even when copy pasted from my serials at Cakewalk.

Just PMed you. But you may want to try manually typing in the serial vs copy/paste. Pasting sometimes doesn't work on the input windows properly.
