Any analog synth? I've got some digital synths and they can do the same sounds with ease (Harmor, for instance). Still, I'd like to hear something unheard.Ingonator wrote:

have to agree here, ive listened to the demos, ive watched the videos, and while it does seem to have some interesting features, they dont add up to "unheard sounds" theres nothing so far that i cant do elsewhere.Igro wrote:Any analog synth? Ahh Igro our number 1 troll from kvr is back for trolling. Why don't you get a girlfriend or some real life instead of postimg bullshit here.
Haters gonna hate.
There is a new video and a mp3 demo avaiilable on their forum.
So far i found no synth which can do the motor and chinsaw sound for example. And there is no other synth out there where you can import the filter sounds of other synths.

Everything seems running very well towards a release very soon so i hope you could build your own opinion based on the product demo.vurt wrote:have to agree here, ive listened to the demos, ive watched the videos, and while it does seem to have some interesting features, they dont add up to "unheard sounds" theres nothing so far that i cant do elsewhere.Igro wrote:Any analog synth? If it is me that you call "preset maker spammer" it's quite unfair. I tried to deliver tons of informations but this does not substitute using the synth yourself.
I could just express my personal opinion which is that i really like this synth.
To be honest i don't really like advertisement like "unheard sounds" very much as comments like yours will be usually the result.
Anyway i am sure that this synth is something special and independent from the "sonic range" the sound quality seems to be excellent.
BTW preparations for the first add-on soundsets are already starting. On of the upcoming soundsets will be focused on Pads/atmospheres which is one of my personal favorites. The use of "wavetables" like in my demo will be helpful for that. My goal was never to do something that the world has never head but to create something that sounds nice and/or interesting.
Doing emulations of wavetables scanning was never planned at the beginning of the beta test, it was something i found during creating and using my own waveforms for Rayblaster (and some experience with Waldorf synths of course...).
It was also not planned do make Rayblaster a VA synth but the analog sounds it could do also based on the import of filter responses based on a single cycle wave are very nice.
Nobody says that the story will end at the factory sounds. There will be many interesting presets in future soundsets i am sure. Anyway i still think the factory sounds are really a nice collection of more "usual" and also unusual sounds.

nope, was a general comment about preset mongers in general. more aimed at tone2 and the ad on the synth.Ingonator wrote:If it is me that you call "preset maker spammer" it's quite unfair.

Thank you for spending your time for providing so much interersting information, Ingo. Please ignore the haters.
Do you know exactly when it will be released?
I've read in their forum that they have extended the demo timeout of saurus to 20 minutes. How long does the demo of Rablaster run?

They wrote on the forum that they will provide a skin which does not show the ''buy sounds" button. So you will have the choice wheater it is visible or not.

Not sure if joking or not...surely they'd be better off looking at companies that have already dealt with this issue successfully ie REFX, Camel Audio, and copying their approach ie hiding the option by default.flakes2 wrote:They wrote on the forum that they will provide a skin which does not show the ''buy sounds" button. no he isn't joking.. Markus wrote:

what I am not sure about, is if you accidentally click on the location where the buy sounds would have been on the gui, would it still activate the function?

I personally do not have a problem with this. Nearly all newer computer games have DLCs today. My old Casio 2000 also has a cardridge slot which is not hidden by default.
I think that people really over react here and they should first wait till they got the fingers on the product before they judge on it.

I think it's funny that people take any word in an advertisement so dead serious. I thought that most people here are adults and no children and know how the world is working. Is Tone2 the only company in the world doing advertisements?
Just remember the "the only synth you'll ever need" slogan from the LuSH-101 website...
Personally i like Rayblaster and think it's really something different but this is a subjective opinion.
The "buy sounds" in the Rayblaster GUI first could be easily ignored (at least i did it while doing presets and testing) and second it does not open the website accidently as a dialog will appear that asks if you want to open the website or not. Last but not least Markus already mentioned he will rethink about moving it (i posted a quote here) but this could be in a later update.
As others above mentioned there could be the opportunity for a different skin without the "Buy sounds" in the main GUI.
When the demo version is out you could check the synth yourself and then decide if you like it or not. For me audio demos are a nice thing for listening and to get an idea about a synth but i would rarely make a decision for a purchase based on them.
This is one of the reasons why i never got e.g. Omnisphere as it does not offer a product demo.

I always download the demo before i buy something. I made a misstake with refx nexxus which has a dongle and i did not want to have the syncrossoft nightmare demo registration mess up my system. Then i bought i without testing it and was not very happy with the sound quality and the very limited ability to build own sounds.
And they did not allow me to resell it.

They really do make life more difficult for themselves; preset browser, sound expansions, advertising, it's all been done successfully before by others - there's no need to reinvent the wheel badly and act surprised when people complain.zvenx wrote:no he isn't joking.. Markus wrote:

AFAIK the timeout for the Rayblaster demo will be 20 minutes and both loading waveforms and also the Resynthesis feature should be usable.flakes2 wrote:Thank you for spending your time for providing so much interersting information, Ingo. Please ignore the haters.

A quote from Markus about the Release:
"Update: Everything is working nicely.
The release will be in very, very early December."
This is from the public Rayblaster forum:
http://www.tone2.org/forum/index.php?board=30.0
Currently i don't see a reason why this should not be possible...
Like with most plugins the last fixes are related to host compatibility, different platforms (32-bit, 64-bit, Mac, Windows, etc.) but with the latest version this seems to look very good.
