I made a misstake with refx nexxus which has a dongle and i did not want to have the syncrossoft nightmare demo registration mess up my system. Then i bought i without testing it and was not very happy with the sound quality and the very limited ability to build own sounds.
And they did not allow me to resell it.
I do have that problem with some other synths too, especially the thing about no reselling.
Even trying a demo does not prevent from disliking a synth after a longer time, same if you tested a hardware synth in a shop before buying...

I too think this is some sort of pulsar synthesis - but where I think it differs is how it does it -> regular pulsar-synthesis is done in the time domain and I think Rayblaster does it in the frequency domain, via some transform - fft, dft, wavelet etc. The "filter extraction" is definetly in the frequency domain aswell - single cycle waveform -> transform -> determine fundamental frequency -> search the upper bins for harmonics that do not follow the same slope as others -> check adjacent bins to determine the "Q" of the filter. Something like that.

The only shortcoming with most "microsounds" type synths are - useful parametrization and predictability - when making your own pathes - a surprise is good - every once in a while but not all the time! Hopefully rayblaster fares well in this regard.

Good luck to the Tone2 team.

Just to state for the record, currently based on images, the Buy Sound doesn't bother me, I didn't even notice it in the images till it was mentioned here and I went looking for it..... However I respect the opinions of those in the dissent.

No amtter what they do there will be always peole who complain because you just can not do right for anyone. At least the guys from tone2 answer to my emails and seem to listen to the customers. It did not have this experience with imageline.

. People here on kvr seem to behave very respectless and aggressive towards the developers and i reaaly can understand why many of them left kvr. Sometimes people are nasty freetards. It must be great and it must be for free and they must be able to consume it now. . It is a shame.

Yes. It could be something in the frequency domain. Maybe the use some kind of white filtering to extract the formants of the signal. Later they put in on the signal back with a fft.
It could be also some kind of Z transform. Maybe similat to what mobile phones do to compress speech data.
It is definitely a very new and interesting approch and i am really looking forward to something new.

Where did you pull that from?

it is out of the context. i got this impression when i have read some of the threads where a freeware developer posts software, but the freetards continously complain.

Troll number one? Ahh, now I can guess who you are...

But anyway, no trolling here, but pretty logical questions based on the statements including in the demo video. When the demo come out, I HOPE to hear "unheard" sounds (apart from saw gritting and whatnot).

That's a fair comment. :)

Same here. Not seen until this talk.

It's on the front page, right. If you're creating sounds, your focus will be on other parts of Rayblaster I guess and if you like to use presets, you probably would like more content anyway?

Tone2 isn't a freeware dev - you need to find another thread to complain in.

@ igro
Angry about the fact that i called you a troll? That is my personal opinion and i will NOT apologize for this.
Unlike you i do not hide behind anonymity.
Just take a look at all the posts and the shitstorm that you tried to lauch within this thread. Get adult and get a real life.

...anyway, I wish you luck with your synth. My comments here (every, in this thread) are based on facts (and it's more than just opinion)

i don't care JUST about "new" and "different"; i just want a synth plugin to be GREAT; to make great, usable sounds,
to be intuitive to work with, to be stable. maybe to look decent LOL...

i want to make music. whenever i find a great new tool to do so, am happy.

the bottom line here should be: download the demo when it's out, see if this one works for you...or not.

just a thought...

I am myself currently working on a hobby hardware synth project. I will post some youtube link to it in the forum soon.
