Amplitube 4-track recorder - the logic?

I'm trying to figure out how to record with Amplitubes recorder. There is metronome and you can set the bpm. No count-in. I can understand that if actually I play all the instruments (with metronome) I just hit the record and start playing. But what if I import a drum track and I wanted to record my guitar from the very beginning? That obviously is not possible, I'd always be a bit late?

Import a drum track with a four count at the beginning...you can alway edit it out later in another app.

Yes, that would be the way - I've been using sequencers too long. I have to think like Tascam-way again.
