I am quite a little bit desperate over the kvr-DC 2012 :(
This kvr-dc is very different than the previous ones.
Some developers hold small talk with one, two users.
Others mention them have even more Plugins.
(What is with almost all developers so, i think)
Another Developer writes metre-long postings in the two main threads

Where are the serious contributions? Who calls his favorites? Who are the losers?

Right things, sensible discussions look different :?

All the chit chat is just a side effect of the contest. Let the plugins themselves do all the talking.

You are right of course, midex ;)
But I ask myself whether it is fair if a developer spamed the forum ?
CMT, by example, has 3 times the same text in 3 Threads.
And this already several times

The've put their heart and soul (plus lots of working hours) in their creations and they're offering them to us for free. And you want to keep them on a leash?

As long as they don't start flame wars, bad mouthing the competition, using abusive language or spamming other devs' support threads, give them some room & credit, please :)

The reason why some competitors post in more than 1 thread is because some folks are that lazy - they only read certain topics (if any).

It's their right to promote and support their creations - this is a competition after all.

My 2 cents, anyway...

Developers (whether they admit it) are divas, and love to see themselves (Their creations) talked about.
It's a thin line between promotion/delusion....

Hey, this is my first post here. I want to know if I can vote only for three vst. Anybody? Thanks!

The developers of Diva aren't divas. You can't have divas making divas, I'm pretty sure that would lead to a paradox or something (violating the law of conservation of diva-nity).

Sorry. :hihi:

Oh, Urs is a diva. Trust me on that. And a wizard.

Some are interested in what I'm posting, others are not.

Is so simple, the ones interested will read, the others not...

I wouldnt classify anything this year as 'spam' just yet.

But, Jeffrey, consider that there are other users voting who not only notice the things you do, but might also feel the same way.

And on the other side, some users may think CMT is giving that little extra effort by updating his entry and getting the word out.
In my mind, calling communication 'spam' is less accurate when the information is useful, and the subject is worthwhile.

That is why voting works so well.
Someone votes might be influenced, for better or worse, right or wrong, by the actions of a dev, aside from the actions of the dev's plugin.

Imo, that is wrong and not the way to go about things, but humans are human. :)
It is easy to see the influence of politics on even the most subtle level.
How many votes might say Bootsie and Xoxos garner due to their winning efforts in past years DCs, and not necessarily due entirely to their entries this year?
I will admit that I gave Bootsie's entry this year a bit longer of a look that I might of if it was not coming from a known source.

When you go to the polling station, you'll find you get five votes. At the moment I've wittled my list down to 13 contenders which was relativley straight-forward but I've been stuck there for about a week.

No, this is a totally legitimate concern.
Playing fair is as important as playing at all - where I come from.
If you can't hold your shit in, devs, don't compete- simple as that.
Play fair or don't play at all.

And Bootsie just released TesslaProII. That's sure to influence a number of potential voters. Doesn't 'being really good at stuff' count as cheating?

Perhaps we could all pool our 'spare' voting capacity and let Bob have it?

Any objections, anyone?
None of the really dumb people I knew when I was young are young any more.

I guess without rules there would be chaos and anarchy but in certain cases I would prefer enthusiasm and zest to suppression and to being reigned in. Has any KVR Audio rules actually even been broken? :o :-o
