I made a Rayblaster demo song on a PC with only 2 gigs of Ram, 10 instances, lots of automation, and no problems

what's happening on your mac? and what are the details (DAW, OS...)...

I tried downloading the 1.0.1 beta demo and that fails to install as well...

have you contacted tone2? or try their forums (on their site). also...try deleting all RB files first (from HD>Library>Audio>Plug-ins (look in the VST & components folders there as well).
THEN try installing 1.0.1...

I looked to see and there are no Rayblaster files on the HD... and no offense to you or Tone2, but I have no interest to spend my time contacting Tone2 or going to their forum in order to try out a demo. I made a few attempts, the installer doesn't work and I am not interested to spend more time on it.

Man, tone2 synths really do sound similar to each other. But I guess that happens sometimes. Arturia are like that too. Different features and functions on the different synths but very similar underlying sound.
