Hi everybody, just wanted to stop by and let you all know that some big things are coming soon. I have been patiently waiting to record my next album and I am glad to inform you that I will start laying tracks next month. I have been in contact with a few different developers and they have, really worked hard to accommodate me in my recording needs. This album will be recorded solely on my ipad without the use of any desktop computers. All drums, synths, pianos, etc, will be performed on different music apps. The only live instruments being used will be my guitar and bass...but these will also be recorded into the ipad using amp/effect simulator apps. Making it a mission to produce a full fledged professional album done with just a mobile device as my recording studio. If anyone has any questions on workflow or other general points of interest, feel free to contact me here or on my email. I will try my best to get back to you as soon as possible. Oh, and I just wanted to say thanks for being the great community that you are....sure, we all have our squabbles now and then, but who doesn't....I'm not excluded from this myself! However, I've tried to give what I can to this forum in the hopes they we continue to grow and progress....I'll be posting some videos dealing with workflow, apps used, mixing, mastering....full production from start to finish...keep an eye out! Until then....ROCK ON....and thanks for making me feel like family, however dysfunctional it may be at times...hahaha
Rock On!

That's fantastic to hear! I never got into using my computer for music, but I have definitely integrated the iPad into my rig. I think it will be extremely helpful to read how you are doing it, what you are using, how you mixed it...yeah. Any insight you have. Looking forward to reading your experience.

Derek, did you (could you) record/process/edit the drum samples you're using on the iPad or is that still too big a job for the iPad?
Not trying to "harsh" your post, just looking to the future for complete creation possibilities.
...and yes I'm looking forward to hearing your final tracks.

I do all my drum tracks on my ipad using different combinations of DrumJam (for backing grooves), Drum Studio (a really cool drum tab editor) and a combination of Beatmaker 2 & Nanostudio loaded with custom drum kits....I play pads in real time along with the tracks and edit after I get a basic feel for what I'm going for. I have a ton of Nanostudio kits for sale and a truckload of drum samples if you're interested....I like realistic sounding kits, but I have some electric stuff as well for background noise. This is a really rough example, so don't critique it too much...lol. I'm just sketching out a drum track on a demo song I'm working on. I'm playing these live on Beatmaker 2 with a custom kit loaded into the pads.Derek Buddemeyer wrote:I do all my drum tracks on my ipad using different combinations of DrumJam (for backing grooves), Drum Studio (a really cool drum tab editor) and a combination of Beatmaker 2 & Nanostudio loaded with custom drum kits....I play pads in real time along with the tracks and edit after I get a basic feel for what I'm going for.
