jim check your pm.
if you have one of the arp2600 based on the 4012 VCF i'm sure the demand will always be high for an emulation that really nails it.
arguably , in terms of sound and features and fun factor, the best analog synth ever made and the prices it goes for are starting to reflect that.

Best luck for all this Jim.TimewARP wrote:TimewARP 2600 is a little different than most analog emulations. First off, it was written quite a while before the invention of the term 0dff... TimewARP 2600 is different because every controllable parameter on every module including the filter are updated each sample with feedback from every other connected module in the synth all of the time.Lotuzia wrote:One complete page full of information about zero delay feedback filter here :rexlapin wrote:0dff= zero delay feedback filter as used in the u-he Diva synth and synths

There is a link to the manual at the bottom of the page which explains more.

TimewARP 2600 also does perform oversampling on it's filter to reduce the feedback delay as well. It is not a perfect emulation, but it does hold up on many tests that most other emulations fail at.
As for updates to TimewARP 2600 was updated last year to support Mac OS X 64-bit with a Cocoa based UI. I have recently had to take external work in order to survive, but I still am putting in time to maintain and update Way Out Ware's products. I am currently working on the 64-bit version of KikAXXE and I hope to have that out soon... I would really like to get back to creating a new version of TimewARP 2600, however, no deep pockets exist here, so that will happen in it's time.
Best,
Jim
No emulation is perfect, you're right, all we have are different emulations with different sonic characters. Like in the good old times. ( Proud owner of an Odyssey amongst other little monsters here )

I've written an email to 'Way Out Underwear'.
No reply.
I've sent in a Support Ticket.
No reply.
It's been over a week already.
I've purchased an iLok2 and was wondering if I could have my Full License for timewarp/KikAXXE transferred to my iLok account?
Does anybody know how to do this without feedback from Jim Heintz?
Does anybody know how to contact Jim Heintz?
Thanks.

completely forgot about this synth until richard divine posted a pic of it via twitter and mentioned using to make drum sounds.
went to the site to check it out. $249 is a bit more than i'd drop on a VST at the moment but still has me curious. though w/things like super flexible awesome sounding zebra package for $199, aalto for $99 and various other high end VST synths in the same price range it's hard to justify. still.. guess i'll check out the beta and see how it goes..

I usually try to avoid reading his blog, because when I do I'll see some new toy I want
He always makes the coolest sounds though.. definitely a big inspiration for me.

I don't understand the $250 pricing. At $99, wouldn't so many people pick it up, far increasing profits? I would imagine so, although I can't say because I don' tknow the numbers. But these days, I thought it was generally eccepted that lower prices will increases profits. The whole iOS thing showed that to an extreme.

it's a shame. it'd be nice if he could find some developer willing to buy the code from him or license it or something and take over development and support.Aloysius wrote:Still no support.
