The only two that are fine that I know of with one monitor are sonar and reaper. Live is good, but plug in windows get out of hand quickly. Outside of that, live is about as clean as it gets imho.
One thing I was not aware of that is nice in S1 is ability to view plugs from one window (except I get pops sometimes when switching) but very handy.

Yeah it's not designed for small laptop lcds lol!hibidy wrote:The only two that are fine that I know of with one monitor are sonar and reaper. Live is good, but plug in windows get out of hand quickly. Outside of that, live is about as clean as it gets imho.

I think with some templates you can switch via the midi controller or it does when you switch tracks, i'll have to check but i use the S1 template with Maschine which is pretty cool.

Ok, the novation impulse is rocking so far. All the stuff basically works and it plays better for sure. Still pissed though that it was the controller. Other than the crappy rouge CC's, it was good enough......now I have on octave less
Automap does as advertised though, and set me up proper for both studio one and live.

I'm torn right now between upgrading Live to Suite or buying an Impulse.

I think the Novation Impulse is an outstanding keyboard, and Automap 4 fixes the annoyances present in v3. Keybed is way better than the original Remote SL I have (which is more like a synth keyboard).
Studio One v2.5 looks pretty solid too - been testing Alchemy. So far so good, update was painless.
In short: WOO!
Peace,
Andy.

No I have the full standard version, just not the Suite. I can upgrade to the Suite for $255 or I could get the Inpulse, trying to make the decision. The Impulse is on sale at bhp for $269:hibidy wrote:too hard for me to say![]()

Just a suggestion ... now that 2.5 has been released, and there's a thread on it, might we want to tie this one off, and move the discussion there?

Get the impulse!!!!!!!!!! The stuff in suite looses it's luster quickly if you have the full version. I do like session drums but I'm sure you have good drum programs already. (I know, hibidy changing his mind again so.....grain of salt and all that)braj wrote:No I have the full standard version, just not the Suite. So far, impulse integrates lovely with both live and studio one (haven't tried reaper but I'm sure it's fine)
I didn't think I'd like these keys. They are kind weird for drums. Only neg I can see so far is I hate pads on these things. They are never right. Anyways.......once I learn to use it better........

Well, I'm no expert but so far so good. For me, all that plugin stuff isn't enticing but the host integration is lovely so far. It's really nice to just have novation tell you how to set things up and like magic, it works.Tehnik wrote:I will never ever buy again anything that requires Automap to work properly.braj wrote:I'm torn right now between upgrading Live to Suite or buying an Impulse.
I think the general consensus is 4 is a vast improvement over 3. It's up to 4.6 so they are not slacking.

Hi,
I was very excited to finally to unseal, and open my boxed version of Studio One Pro - V2, which has been sitting in the box for over a year now hoping to install and discover S1Pro 2.5 , but... to my surprise, I could not find any thing in the box that has my 'Product Key' printed on it, and without the Product Key, I can't register it.
Basically, I have the DVDs, Quick Start Guide, some fun stickers attached to the Key Commands booklet, and that's it. No 'Product Key' in the box
Any idea if I'm missing something here ? or is it very likely that they forgot to include the 'Product Key' during the assembly of the package ?
Anyway... I will be contacting both Presonus Support, and my Dealer to see what they can do about this issue.
Thanks,
Muziksculp
