I just doubt that an all-in for SampleTank 3 would be 300 credits when the five new items released yesterday would be 420... Also I swear I read "this year" in your comment though I was clearly seeing things.

I don't know what ancient DAW you are talking about, but afaik modern DAWs use at least 32fp internally, some 64fp, which makes this claim quite doubtful. You are basically saying that the hardware LA2A can take well over 1500dB without clipping. I can't test that myself atm, but find that very hard to believe.Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:One important note about the LA2A as I can say regarding it on its own without comparison is that it (White 2A) will be harder to push into saturation due to its nature and that you'll clip your DAW before you clip the unit (just like the hardware reacts).
IK Multimedia is definitely not "cool" with that. If they would be, then why on earth would they be violating the law by charging their customers for a 'license transfer'?braj wrote:Has anyone been to a Rainbow gathering? Or Shakedown Street at a DEad show? It would be cool if IK embraced a bartering system where users could trade and sell plugins [...]
Peter/Brian, please explain why IK Multimedia persists in violating the law, even after the UsedSoft judgement? Should we perhaps see this Custom Shop as a strategic move to frustrate the resale of licenses for individual plug-ins even further, or even make them impossible at all?

Well, I suppose that is one way to alienate customers who have been waiting for years and those who have made additional gear credit purchases based on untrue statements. You guys will never seize back customers from NI if ST3 is priced through the roof after all this time and in this economy. A "thank you for waiting" is in order, especially given the absence of a 64 bit ST2 release.

I wish there were a discount for buying all 4 quad plugins at once in the CS. There is an add for it, and they are all showcased together, but no group discount.
If you have requests for Korg VST features or changes, they are listening at https://support.korguser.net/hc/en-us/requests/new

It's 24 pages! That's barely a chapter. Still, when a manual might be needed to authorize the thing that musician's want to use, there is something not right. That isn't a knock on the creation of the manual. It's the idea that it might be needed at all. And yea, the shock of the 9 chapter manual for the authorization manual has worn off. Maybe you can see where my reaction came from.Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:Well, judging from the questions and people not knowing it existed it seems like your first question is answered and if you read it you may find the answer to your second question.sellyoursoul wrote:Why is there an authorization manager manual, and for f**k's sake, why are there at least 9 chapters for it?Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:There's an offline method for authorization of Custom Shop plugins detailed in Chapter 9 of the Authorization Manager manual.Compyfox wrote:Hello?! Someone reading along?
Custom Shop only works while you are being ONLINE. I know of offline means (forum is down for me currently), but it's more hassle and I only remember it to work for AT3.
Jeez, what people say about IK threads is true! We get crap for having a detailed manual... love it.

Kind of, but to be honest, I welcome a manual and I prefer it to explain what is necessary. Also, I found that a "comparable" manual (let's just leave it at that) clocked in at 36 pages. I think we're OK on this front and should focus our resources on something other than Authorization Manager's manual.

I guess there's no humor in comments about ST 3. I'll stay out of it, since I did state the ballpark we were realistically looking at and have NO idea about pricing right now anyway. I should better judge when humor is in order here, I suppose. I will say that nobody inferred that SampleTank would be sold in Custom Shop nor be the gear hinted at for (unfortunately originally) November and that was released here since I was asked to give the most honest timeline and set expectations that would have clearly indicated this was not going to be SampleTank gear at all.anxiousmofo wrote:Well, I suppose that is one way to alienate customers who have been waiting for years and those who have made additional gear credit purchases based on untrue statements. The synths/workstations are probably the best candidates for a custom shop that I can think of, aside from Amplitube. Particularly so if a ST engine remains able to play content from/for the various workstation products.
I missed the realistic ballpark post, but that does piqué my curiosity.
Not trying to be a jerk; just giving my sense of the landscape. And I am a bit bitter now about my second gear credit purchase, as a perhaps too hopeful and (very recently) unemployed gent.

I called and was told by IK owning all the items in "Deluxe" doesn't qualify for the "Deluxe to Grand upgrade" if originally purchased as T-RackS standard + Singles purchased in a group buy.
I'm not one to complain about a better deal appearing after a purchase. But it looks like past deals do have future strings attached to them.
I'll probably buy ala carte what I want in customshop. I have a hard time spending more $$ before I use up my unused customshop credits. Strange they would offer spending more as my best solution to savings.

Well, even if I didn't work for IK I'd have to say that if you are talking about that massive promotion where people got MOST of the Singles that comprise Deluxe as free bonuses I'd still say "can you blame us?" on that. I mean if most of what someone has was included as freebies in a Group Buy, it is still quite a good deal for the upgrade at $50 more than those that bought Deluxe straight out. I'm trying to put on a non-biased hat here, I really am.Kevin63101 wrote:I called and was told by IK owning all the items in "Deluxe" doesn't qualify for the "Deluxe to Grand upgrade" if originally purchased as T-RackS standard + Singles purchased in a group buy.

@Ch00rD: If you have a legal complaint, please see a lawyer or contact IK's legal department yourself. Peter's not a lawyer, far as I know. Busting his [athletic equipment] over this is unlikely to do you or anyone else any good. Thanks.

Weird, I did indeed feel a slight disturbance in my shuttlecock now that you mention it!
