We say that we aim for the most accuracy at every opportunity and our process has maniacal attention to detail. I'd say most here would say that we state this so much it is "to a fault" too! And we can more than "reverse engineer" almost any hardware that we can take apart and measure. We have people who build, repair, and model hardware as habit and for years.ostfront wrote: With reverse engineereing NOT sanctioned or assisted by the original manufacturer, how accurate can it be? AND, do they aim for 100% accurate? They never said so...
This new SSL channel strip from IK Multimedia looks great

All these ladies in this thread worrying about how their toys look in the mirror and not how they sound. Shame!

Actually, if you do work hours with such a tool, I want it to be easy on the eyes, not nuking them out.

Worse GUI I've seen short of the free plugins scattered about the web in a long time. It'd be different if the sound was so phenomenal that it made the look almost sheik but I can't buy plugins I can't stand to look unless the sound blew me away. I go for plugins that sound AND look good to me. This looks like a cartoon.

it sounds great. transparent but thick added a lot of punch to my drums fast and easy with just the eq section I didn't even have to touch the compressor to get the sound I wanted on this guy. I like it a lot.dblock wrote:Worse GUI I've seen short of the free plugins scattered about the web in a long time. the picture is neve not ssl lolSJ_Digriz wrote:Someone had posted the UA SSL console as an example. Although in general I really like UA GUI's, they aren't perfect from a usability standpoint.
The freq rings on the two bands are a PITA to set. So, it looks great, but is hard to use. And, to Peter's point. I love that eq, so I use it all the time anyhow.
So, if you guys decide to go back and "fix" the UI. Make sure it is accessible. For the most part you guys have done a good job of that recently. ST2 has a lot of "can't find the magic spot to move this control" in it. AT3 has a few but not the things you would use regularly. But again, for the most part you guys are getting much better at balancing "look" and usability.
Ik should just look at waves gui design, they are always the best
Has anybody ever really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?

I admit being drawn to gui's. Flux is a good example. I'm never spending that coin for something that requires an ilok and isn't even x64 (unless they have changed) but they are sexy. There is another one I can't quite think of that is just sex, but I didn't like the way they sounded

GUI looks like it came out of a gumball machine, but my guess is they were trying to make a calculated effort to distance themselves from the original hardware look because they had no license agreement with SSL. They succeeded.
