Sorry that IK's complete lack of help on how to authorize CSR on an offline computer and leaving it to me to waste my precious f**king time dragging files and folders from one computer to another over simply to get CSR to work - instead of just offering a f**king install file - has left me feeling that really, IK is way more trouble than it's worth.
I pointed out the location in the manual and tech support is there if you couldn't get that to work. I appreciate your input and have requested a specific FAQ, etc for this too. And forwarded your main concern about an install file too, of course.

Definitely +1
Other professionals using our plugins disagree. We do make iOS apps which puts some pros off sometimes but the Custom Shop wouldn't be brought to T-RackS if our pro users didn't like of use it. It doesn't float your two boats but everybody is different. We don't just throw plugins or changes out there without a keen sense of all of our market. We're not a one-man shop without some vision considering we've been doing this for a LONG time.

Peter, all people want are separate installers for software they've bought that's been updated without being tied to the Custom Shop. If IK made the products available for sale in the Custom Shop and tied them into T-Racks while also giving previous owners licenses/installs, most of this ugliness would have been avoided.

Just so I'm clear:
CSR users should have gotten a new CSR installer/serial
Black76 users should have gotten a new Black76 installer/serial
White2A users should have gotten a new White2A installer/serial

This way, you release the new version of T-Racks shell with the Custom Shop for free where all of these plugins also work, with the option of buying gear I don't own through there (thus adding a new license/installer to my IK account).

Then...
T-Racks Deluxe users have an upgrade price to T-Racks Grand

Anyone who owns any other T-Racks singles would still get the plugins available to them via the new T-Racks shell.

That would have solved most of the issues I've seen people reporting with this new system, including how to handle resales (i.e., you can!).

That would also make it possible/easier to sell the licenses as well. I think that your idea would make everyone pretty happy.

believe it or not... ik multimedia does not want to make anything easier for anyone... they are a business... their were individuals who got paid to come up with scheme/model... the idea is to maximize the profit... all of these ideas in this thread they discussed at the status meetings at ik multimedia headquarters... instead of giving away the products for individuals in the grey area... they rather you pay for it... period... business 101!!!

But first of all we need know if IK sticks to the EU-rules, and allow
resale, unrestricted, or, they look upon their CS-concept as a way to
get around rules, thats a valid question, everyone could expect just a
clear "yes" or "no", (without writing special emails about this, and
probably get no answers), I understand if the compagnys representing
people would have to check out their "back-land" before touching the
subject, and I also understand if the IK-top evt need to re-think the
hole concept, and impliment a few changes, willing, or un-willing,..

Lets see where it ends, be optimistic, and remember the IK people here
is only send to promote, and help, (thanks), they are not "responsible"

I don't think that's entirely fair. I got the updated Black76, White2A, CSR, and T-Racks 4 CS Shell and I didn't pay a dime extra. These updates were all free. I honestly don't know if they were intentionally trying to prevent resales of plugins, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. That said, I'm not feeling very inclined to make any IK purchases at the moment as a result of this...

The transfer fee used to be 50 bucks.

Man, these threads are so day before yesterday. But, I had to come back since I was trying to reconcile the irony of the previous two statements with the British Channel interface. Yes, I'm sort of kidding, but with a point.

That said, KVR has a reputation in part based on a few veteran whiners. I've joined that chorus to certain degree in my relatively short time posting here, though I've been reading it for years.

That's not to say that there aren't some valid points made, but the level of entitlement seems to have hit a peak again. I just hope some good comes out of all of it. Okay, it's back to the sidelines for me.

They weren't free. There is no such thing as a free update. It is included in the price. It is no additional cost to you, but it surely not free.

I'm not sure right now how I feel about the T-Racks Custom shop. I like the concept, but I think it would make more sense if they had A LOT more items in the shop and they were priced lower (25% or more).

This is what makes the Ampltiube Custom Shop work imo -- A large variety of gear and they aren't all super expensive. 80 dollars for one T-Racks effect seems a bit stiff. Especially when this vending machine of plugins doesn't seem to have a large selection of candy. :hihi:

If only they would have incorporated creative effects into the lineup as well. And not just one chorus, one delay, one phaser.. etc but a variety of creative effects - some modeled after well desired legacy and modern units and some completely new.

Right now, it's feel like just another way to get exactly what we already had!

Right, the people here aren't going to answer legal questions. If you have a question about a plugin you want to resell or about a current or future license and its resale I think it is absolutely fine and appropriate that we continually point those with these questions to the appropriate contact methods. You can talk about it all you want here but we cannot directly access the information required to give you the correct answer to your question.

So I guess these 5 new items don't really interest anyone here?

Post

ik multimedia's business practice(s) has always been suspect... it is pretty sad that they came out with new products and the shop... but that does not negate their history and treatment of their client base...

if i am wrong... how did we get here?

Didn't have the time to play with them all yet, but the DeEsser is very cool, I tested it on an old recording that drove me mad at the time and worked great it seemed very transparent. The Quad Comp is also very nice. I like the visual feedback of the processing.

I would love to comment on them. However, as I mentioned in the other thread, there is a bug in the Custom shop not acknowledging the new items in trial mode. Awaiting ticket response on how to get them to be 'seen' (yes, Custom Shop is open and I'm signed into my account -- could even see it claimed it was in trial mode).

I did manage a few moments with Quad Image and liked it.. seems subtle and was enhancing in a good way - like the Side processing from the other T-Racks plugins merged into the multi-band setup from the new Quads. Was contemplating if it was worth 80 credits to me at the time the trial decided to be a poop (still had a day left of time then :()

However big the interest, there would certainly be a bigger interest if the
answers about resale etc was un-fuggy and clear, not something to beg for, or
being directed elsewhere, anyway, a non-answer is also a answer, I got mine
