+9000

I got tired of hanging out with guys who were like "Bro did you get that latest wave collection off etc etc" "Its so siiiiiick bro!"

Those people are morons who end using powerful tools and the presets and ruining their mixes in the end.. lol

I believe they sort their own kind out with their stupidity..

eventually their systems crash from the viruses etc and they lose all their work, which in some cases results in them either giving up on music all together or appreciated the value in the tools they need to buy.

Like your post in general... but... wild animals are not selfish nor do they exhibit the sorts of excessive characteristics that people often do.
oh lol. another "humans bad, animals good" person.

yes animals aren't selfish. go walk around the serengheti, or the bush in australia. see how long you last.

funny how compassion, empathy, etc... were ne'er to be found until homo sapiens evolved.

yes, how awful people are. much more likely to find a bear to help you out in a time of need

that bear shows a lot of unselfish behavior, while it eats you alive

When I look at the amount of plugins released, sample libraries, third party soundbanks then I think that the market is just saturated. I wonder, where's the border line ? 0.99 $ per plugin / soundbank / sample library ? Maybe I'm wrong but music production will never be as much popular as gaming for example. You just can't introduce marketing similar to http://www.humblebundle.com/ and made 4 mln $ just because 700 000 people bought that bundle.

Personally I think that plugins shouldnt cost less than ... 100 $. Why ? I don't know ;) It's just, as customer, I want to make the authors live too. Sure, Native Instruments, Waves will probably do fine, whatever the prices will be - they'll just sort it out somehow. But small, independent developers ? I remember that I installed demo of nice synth called Diversion - I liked it and then I remember that about 24h later, after the plugin release there was a cracked version . I dont know if the author made any profit, especially if we'll take the amount of time required to develop such software into account.

Yes, paying 300 $ or more for some compressor plugin is madness but buying plugins at the price of cinema ticket or some dinner at restaurant is ... madness too. I don't like it. Incredibly low prices made the product valuable as much as ... shit. Take a look at android apps or music. You buy it for 0.99 $ and forget about it an hour later. You don't care about it, because it's horribly low priced. It (almost) has no value.

i didn't put any words in your mouth. I also didn't argue with myself. where do you see my arguing with myself.

wrong, wild animals are the definition of selfish. that's all their brains will allow them to be. they aim to satisfy every carnal urge that they get. they can't help it. that's part of what makes them wild animals, by definition.

you completely missed it man!

That's my take on animals too.

Humans claim to be superior, but, they largely fail. Especially by refusing to accept their status of animal and spending more time in pretend mode.

I'd like to see them teach a dog to play an instrument. They teach em how to drive these days... Dogs would totally be pirates. They eat their own poop and roll in dead stuff, FCOL.

Except it is well recognized that many 'wild' animals act to group needs over their own. Species survival often depends on Group > Individual. Not just humans.
If you have to ask, you can't afford the answer

Except when they see a squirrel.... 90 degree turn off of the road and into an embankment... that or crashed into the bacon section of the supermarket.

Hey man, I like animals too.

But let's not kid ourselves. This is a man's world, for a good reason.

i purchased more plug ins in the last year than i have in the 4 or 5 previous to that. but i also sold all my plug ins that require iLok. so long (bitch!)

i think there is just more competition in the plug in world via small developers making really good stuff. also, probably some companies realized their prices were out of line w/the market.. plus sales etc.
