hmmm. character is on sale just a little longer.

I wonder if I would find more use with this or SSL twin tube.

my demo of character is done, so I can't really tell.

I had some issues with Character. It's a bit tricky to setup.. sometimes it starts pumping unnaturally, like it's expanding the gain a bit too fast, not taking into account the actual envelope of the musical passage. It seems to go slightly bonkers on sounds with a lot of bass in them.

I got slightly better results with Bootsy's Tessla mk2 + ThrillseekerXTC. Granted, I haven't tried Character on that many sources yet but enough to decide to skip this one. Maybe next year.

I've already bought way too many plugins! I've got a serious case of GAS this fall.

One other that is of possible use is bx boom. I can see that having a positive impact (PUN!!!!) on my kicks. SERIOUSLY doubt that will go on sale though.

Twin Tube does wonders to the sound.

I should have tried Twin Tube prior to Character.

Me too. Twin Tube - meh. But Character and BX_Stereomaker/BX_Saturator are still top of the list/lust.

Character on the bassline brought it into focus and then Character on the toms worked wonders too

Character then BX_Saturator on a bassline sounds sick.

I'm over my Synth GAS BUT Effects GAS is in full affect!

I'm resisting temptation on the Character. I like what it does, and the fact that it does it almost "automatically" is great, but I can get there with other plugs. I'm also used to the workflow with those, so it's not really a huge time saver for me. Plus, I'm trying to attune myself to the fact that 69 $ may sound cheap, but not if you buy four or five things that "only" cost 69 $.

BX_Sat is on the list, though. And I'll demo TwinTube today to compare the two. Has anyone done a side-by-side with these?

An update on Character. No problems except if I try to close the Fruity Wrapper before the readouts zero out I get a Runtime Error.
It's prolly the Wrapper. I'm having quite a few issues with the FL Wrapper..
bx XL V2 is $130 ,,,

Been demoing TwinTube. Funny thing is, when I STOP playback, the CPU usage spikes like hell. Anyone else get this? Using Ableton 8.3.

I'm really starting to like this thing, I prefer it to the BX-Saturator and even the new Studio Devil preamp. Hope there's some sort of fix for this, because it'll pop up on the calendar any day now.
