Is CSR REVERB worth $40?

As a t-racks single user who qualifies for an upgrade price, i can get the CS bundle or for and extra $40 i can get the bundle that includes CSR... Any thoughts either way?

I'd say it's worth 40 bucks. However, I think CSR's strengths lie in its editability and modulation support, even though the interface is arguably a bit too close to a chunk of 90s hardware to be easy to edit. So, if you want a fire and forget reverb with a ton of presets, there may be better options out there for you today.

Is it worth $40? No. It is worth much more.

The CSR Hall module (one of 4 modules included) is the most lush and true reverb around. I paid something like $200 for it when it first came out and never regretted a nickel.

I cried a few tears when I couldn't use it in my x64 rig this past year, but now it's back and sounds even better to me.

I have a ton of other reverbs--Aether, etc. CSR is it.

If you can get it for $40, get it.

No. Even although I bought this sometimes I am not using it.
Get Valhalla and you have most reverb needs covered.

I give the edge to ValhallaRoom over CSR for the thoughtfully designed interface and nice variety of algorithms within a single instance. Very fast to dial in a great sound.

CSR does sound excellent as well though and it has some nice features such as the modulation matrix.

With the recent price drops on Lexicon's verbs I've been comparing lots of them to see if I should grab LXP for $120 (JRRshop 40% discount ends this week). For me it beats every verb I've compared it to. Really amazing sounding. But keep in mind you need an iLok to use it.

I'd recommend setting aside an hour or two and grabbing up as many reverb demo's as you can and trying them against each other on your own material, as that's really the only way to tell which will work best for your workflow and the sound you're after.

Yes, it's absolutely worth it. For that matter, I think it's worth the $100. The old price of $229 was ridiculous. I bought it on a "Krazy IK deal" for $50. I use it quite a bit. Super light on CPU and sounds very good. Mind you, I've become a SERIOUS SKnote fan and VerbTone is the BEST plate verb I have in my plugin collection.

No it's not worth $40. For $50 you can get ValhallaRoom which is a lot better.

I'd say it's a decent option for $40. I use the gated verb on the Inverse module a bit.

For its time (2006/2007?) it was good. But with ValhallaRoom as an option I'd say no. It's too grainy sounding.
