The Jimi Hendrix legend continues. His revolutionary playing and creative use of guitars, amps and effects have influenced virtually every electric guitarist who's come after him.

Using genuine Hendrix gear and our cutting-edge modeling technology, we developed an app that lets you tap into Jimi's signature sounds right from your iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch. It's AmpliTube Jimi Hendrix™, which we created in collaboration with ® Authentic Hendrix.

The app is a multi-FX processor and recording studio that gives you instant access to incredibly accurate digital models of Hendrix's gear. We even offer the presets in discography format, so you can dial in the tone from specific Hendrix songs.



Jimi's Effects

The app offers four stompbox effects that are modeled from authentic Hendrix pedals: Uni-V (model based on Univox™ Uni-Vibe™), Octa-V (model based on the Roger Mayer™ Octavia®), Fuzz Age (based on the Arbiter® Fuzz Face®), and Wah 46 (model based on the Vox® V846™ wah), which is unlocked after registration. We also offer the Noise Filter effect from AmpliTube, to keep the high-gain sounds under control. The stompboxes can be placed in any order in the four effects slots, and there's a choice of a condenser or dynamic mic on the virtual speaker cabinet.

There's Magic in Those Presets

Usually presets are not the most exciting part of an app, but with AmpliTube Jimi Hendrix™, we offer an extensive preset collection in the format of a Hendrix discography.

When you choose a preset, the app automatically selects the right amps and effects to totally nail the guitar tone from that song. Want to cop Jimi's tone from "Fire," the wild wah sound in "Rainy Day, Dream Away," or his fuzzed-out "Star Spangled Banner" tone? It's easy: just select the preset.

lol I can see this being the first question asked of EVERY app announced from now on.

On a slightly more on topic point AFAIK Amplitube is still the only app that will allow you to control the Wah with a MIDI foot controller so it's the only one that would even have a shot at Hendrix.

For that reason Amplitube is still on my iPad.

PS any chance of Audiobus support?

I don't have any official news on Audiobus at this time, yet, but we've been looking at it and I can assure you that this is among the very first places we'll post news if we have it to report.

The last update (Amplitube 2.8 ) makes the app crash.
It starts and can see the startup screen then it stops.
This is on an Ipad3 32Gb.

Will this be fixed anytime soon?

That is very good to hear.
I will just wait in stead of uninstalling the app, probably shouldn't take to long.

Installed the update.
I had to register again and restore my purchases.
My presets were still there so no big deal.

One gripe I quickly noticed (only played like 5 mins),
The new menu button is nice for the shop/account/help, but putting the settings in that menu wasn't a good idea. The new menu loads slower and so reaching settings is slower, I want to see my levels quick.

Havn't tried Jimi though where the topic is about
