I'm just pissed because I thought that I checked and double checked this stuff. I guess what I was doing when testing was throwing it on something and going WHOOOOOAAAAA and not saving.

*sigh*, it's been a rough day, again, the workaround is just save the profile and recall it before rendering.

On a positive note, all the other settings save and even with the stupid curves not being saved it still sounds better than w/o :hihi:

Hmmm...might have to demo that against the SPL Twintube https://www.plugin-alliance.com/en/plug ... ntube.html

I think I might really be wanting a saturator type tool (for remastering) at this point more than a harmonics festival...must try. :)

I'll see how my ears stack it up against Ozone5 standard (m/s multiband sat) and a couple of other things (PSP, Nebula Pro AlexB, CDSound, etc).

Yay!

Re: TwinTube vs. BX_Sat: I've demoed them extensively the past coupla days and have decided they are different enough from each other (and each is awesome in its own way) to warrant getting both. :D

I've even "tested" them (too big a word, but youknowhatImean) against my other saturation options (Alloy/Ozone, Trash2, Maul, Voxengo stuff, etc.). And I will still get them both, because they do add significantly different flavours.

If I'd get just one, though, it'd definitely be TwinTube. There is that CPU spike bug I encounter in Ableton/Win7 now and again, but it's not a deal breaker. It just sounds amazing, and you can fine-tune it to a high degree.

This is gonna be trouble... :hihi:

My day finally has come! bx_sat!

Not really crazy about TwinTube myself, after owning Saturn it kinna killed most of my desire for more saturation... Wouldn't have bother with bx_sat either but the widening effect is just so juicy. Love it on bx_XL, now I just want this thing everywhere.

...Just kidding, I want TwinTube too but my wallet is bled dry

I told you guys!

That same thing happened to me. I tested and tested, then bought it becasue it was only available for a limited time. I then found out about the 'losing can not saving the capture bug'

I thought maybe it was only MAC + Live thing. Are you on a PC hibidy?

The mac AU works with Live.

Also the rendering in other than 44.1, makes it lose reset it's capture. I have a video of it happening, you can clearly see it do it.

These are confirmed bugs that PA knows about.

btw, their response said something about the next few days  I'm still really mad at myself.

I think in the long run you probably have a fine plugin with DSM. It does make me wonder what Plugin Alliance quality implications this has, if any... :(

Post

Well, if they are being truthful and it's going to be let's say a week from now then it will be fine. But how stupid I am that I didn't notice it?

Anyways, we'll see. If everyone complains about it in the next week maybe they ARE actually working on it :hihi:

I'm definitely going to write them an email about it as I bought it as a quite vital part for my work. I thought DSM would be perfect for "rescue" work where nasty audio material needs some shaping (mainly in the highs as DSM isn't all that effective below 2kHz).

I briefly demoed Bx_saturator but I don't like it. I don't like the sound of it's saturation nor do I like the interface. In this regard I think FabFilter or Ohmicide plugins are superior.. or any of the other candidates from the likes of waves and soundtoys.

Still waiting for SPL Twin Tube though. That thing keeps impressing me more and more. It's the perfect complement to Studio Devil VTP. It's also very nice when you sandwhich it between two instances of Voxengo MSED, boosting the sides before going into the plugin, then compensating at the output. This gives some very nice widening as the harmonic content changes between the side and mid signal.

Cheers!

I reported this already 3 weeks ago !

I passed on bx_saturator also - the little grain of sand in my shrimp brain kept shifting around... the sound was nice and big and gorgeous at first but soon thousands of saturated digital harpoons began to hit my eardrums and I couldn't shake it. That was on the master bus, on a sub would sound better I think.

I'll have to try the m/s idea with Twin Tube seems interesting. I kinda did something similar but backwards using bx_saturator in DDMF meta modular plugin. Using 2 bx_saturator instances each wired into the left side to make independent L/R saturation. It sounded good for a few minutes, then, same as above...

Also I'm having more thoughts about the DSM problems and potential Plugin Alliance quality control. Hope they work it out soon, association and all that.

That's too long (how long you've waited). It's a fundamental thing.

Sorry to keep going on, but I'm really frustrated at myself.

Anyways, don't need a de-esser
