Yeah, it clicks all the time. Not sure if there's a way to change that.. anyway, once I have the drum loop in I switch it off

We would but Apple doesn't let us do that.

I would like to hear more about what we're supposed to do to get the timing right with Loopy and Audiobus.

I'm using AudioBus now with Soundprism Pro and Thumbjam. I have tried dozens of times, but can never get the most basic drum beat from Thumbjam to be recorded as a decent drum loop in Loopy.

I can use the drum loops already in Loopy, but that's not what this setup is really about.

After setting up the three apps into AudioBus, I have been:
- Using a new session in Loopy, no clock or tempo specified
- Going to Thumbjam and opened up the Drum sounds
- Used the Audiobus side tray to hit the red record button for Loopy
- Play a measure or two of a basic beat
- Hit the record button again

But the loop always has too much space in Loopy.

Could someone walk me through what you are supposed to hit when to lay down a basic drum track? Or point me to where I can find the answer?

Thanks,
-- Joe

P.S. Sometimes, but not always, there Loopy record button in the Audiobus sidetray is green. I don't know what that means.

I use the Count-in quantize option in Loopy, and set it to something like 1 bar. Then the record button turns from green to red 1 bar after you hit record.
You just have to have some sort of click or drum loop already playing, or use the metronome beat in Loopy, and count along.
I just wish the metronome beat in Loopy would start and play at that 1 bar (or what ever bar lenght you set) count-in, and count-out.

Thanks, appreciate the help.

I just checked Audiobus' forum. It sounds like the auto-triggering of Loopy from an Audiobus input app is not really working yet. So, as you suggested, we'll need to start the tempo up somehow from Loopy.

There is an audiobus vid on YouTube which shows you how to sync funk box to loopy s clock that way you can have perfect in time loops every time!

Little Midi Machine as midi input for loopy, and then add a binding: Toggle record when you press the LMM play button.

Luckily the guys at Audiobus are more charitable, the picture in the App Store now has a large red button saying Don't Panic, oooops sorry a large red rosette saying requires ipad 2 or iPhone 4S. Well done them don't think they could make it much clearer :)

Set outputs in the LMM settings, then check the Loopy settings.

-> Control inputs -> bindings

How about making Loopy free for people who purchase audiobus?

As awesome as the premise of audiobus is in itself, it's not of much use without a compatible recorder.
I wouldve gotten audiobus right away if it worked with something i own, like garageband. I know this isn't to be expected, but of course it would be ideal because that one is so widely owned and used.

This wouldn't be an issue if there was a decent free app that could give you an immediate impression on recording via audiobus.
I know Loopy is cheap right now as is, but i'm slightly put off by the need to buy another app to experience what audiobus is all about.

Time is probably going to take care of that though.

hmm, if one looks how much money people spend on BS everyday, and how much tax the pay to corrupt politicians who do even greater BS everyday in their name because they got elected by them .... snd then they want that others take their work seriously and pay them fair ... hmmmm, and the same people do not want to spend a few pennies on an app?

the correct answer here might be ... leave it, there really is no point in complaining ....

best
