Custom Shop is needed to install the Singles versions of your purchased T-RackS gear, including 64-bit versions of CSR.

So while you could pass on installing the Custom Shop application, you would only have the full T-RackS shell installed.

Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:We stated that new gear was coming, and in fact it was guessed by quite a few very early on. I also have been over the "300 credits" thing multiple times and it was even reposted showing I gave a huge caveat about it even then... So I think this has been hashed and rehashed and you can see from the posts above yours that there are people quite satisfied and with any changes like this there will always be people satisfied.

You can also see the scenario I presented where many were requesting the Deluxe upgrade when most of the Singles they had were bonuses from Group Buys where they purchased one or two Singles outright. Again, I think we're offering quite a fair value and have been helpful and fair to those that have had issues or requests.
What I want to add to this is we also know about what's in the works. We're playing the long game here. What's out now is just the first offering from T-RackS in the Custom Shop. You can never have too many Gear Credits. Sooner or later you'll be glad you stocked up at 4x1.

I'd really like to hear more about this, what sorts of effects we should expect to see. I'm really excited about this.

One thing I'd like to beg is please please please allow drag and drop to rearrange devices in the shell. Especially as you get more and more devices and T-RackS gets even less specialized as a mastering tool, it really becomes critical if it is to be useful. Of course i could just use singles and arrange them in my DAW but I like the single window interface with the metering, and would love to see that improved and expanded.

What sort of effects would you like to see? :)

OK, but that's more of an AmpliTube request than a T-RackS request! ;)

What about studio rack and recording gear?

All sorts of effects, the gamut, I want choices. In the same way Amplitube gives guitar effects in such variety, I want the same with T-RackS. But what can I think of specifically? How about a plugin that is a shell host for other VSTs, with some ability to customize front panel controls (a few colors, a few knob setup templates, ability to change labels). that way if i have a nice phazer from someone else I could include it in my chain and save it as a preset.

It would also be cool if somehow some effects could be shared between Amplitube and T-RackS. For instance, if you could use a T-RackS compressor in the Amplitube rack. It would be cool if it were a simplified preset player with a couple key controls. It would also be cool if you could bring up a Amplitube pedal from within the T-RackS rack. Do all the sorts of weird stuff with your gear that you would do with real hardware. make all your IK gear a big sandbox.

Hosting other effects is boring.
You have the company that makes the most accurate hardware models out there asking you what dream gear you'd personally like added to T-RackS, and your answer is "someone else's!"

LOL!

No, my answer is 'flexibility'. You may not offer a certain style of effect for some period of time, it allows us to have the most options with the huge side benefit for you that we happily stay in your playground.

I'm surprised IK hasn't developed a Tape plugin.

Anyhow a big + for this is my rack presets would be usable across DAWs, so as I switch from Live to Studio One I have the same setup. Being able to include 3rd party effects keeps me from choosing to use my DAW for the routing instead of a rack.

But you have to look at it from our perspective. If we turned our plugins into VST/AU hosts, then not only would we have to ensure compatibility with every DAW out there, but we would also have to ensure compatibility with every plugin, too. That would make our software a whole lot less stable, and take up all of our time and resources on compatibility instead of modeling cool new vintage gear. We'd spend all our time trying to figure out why some SynthEdit plugin crashed our software. Are you sure that is what you'd really want? :?

We might have something with tape on the way.
But it also might not be what you think...
