Brian, one more question, can you open projects where original Singles are used, the singles from the TRacks Deluxe i mean?
I have to work on a project where they are used, but i only have full CS Grand installed on my computer. Those singles are named CS etc..
Would i have to buy the original singles then?

If you already have T-RackS 3 installed those plugins will NOT be replaced when installing T-RackS CS. If you work on a project where T-RackS 3 plugins are installed, the project will open as-is and it is up to you if you want to replace them with the new versions manually. This retains the integrity of the older project and lets you have more control over changing the sound.zeep wrote:Brian, one more question, can you open projects where original Singles are used, the singles from the TRacks Deluxe i mean?

Support is working directly with people who have this issue. There have been tests of the fix (I believe those that reported it received an updated exe to test) but there is not specific date yet for an update. It should be released after it is tested (including any other issues that would typically be in any dot release)alteregoxxx wrote:Brian, is the Win XP's bug still there? I mean the bug about the singles(these are not automatically downloaded in the vst folder when you hit "restore my gear")...will it be resolved with the update you were talking about a few posts ago? In January, from what you said, right?

Not trying to relight any flame-wars here, just a sincere question (and I did read through a bunch of these posts). Anyway, I rebuilt my DAW a few months ago and re-registered all my t-racks components (standard plus all the singles in deluxe). Tonight I tried to use the metering/shell plug and got a message that it was not authorized. Went to authorize and it says I have to upgrade to CS. Not a big deal 'cause I just used a different tool, but is that really the deal? I'm pretty sure I reauth'ed when I rebuilt my machine but possibly I missed the shell (though pretty sure not). All the other singles still work. Kind of annoying if I need to dl/install the whole CS just to use the stuff I already bought... but I'm guessing it's just as likely that I messed up when I re-installed and now it's too late if I still want to use the shell. Anybody know for sure? Thx

still no reaction to my support ticket (#343617) but advertising a product that still is not working 100% for some of the users is something... erm... "strange"...?
i hope you get things sorted out soon...

We're advertising a product that works, sounds fantastic (which of course we have heard barely a peep here but it is indeed the overall consensus we are seeing in places where people are actually interested in discussing sound quality) and some people have issues that Tech Support can help with. I've sent your ticket number in to the Support Manager for review. Thanks.kinkajou wrote:still no reaction to my support ticket (#343617) but advertising a product that still is not working 100% for some of the users is something... erm... "strange"...?

If you are trying to use T-RackS 3 metering/shell you should have no need to have T-RackS CS installed because T-RackS CS is a separate release (to keep your previous projects intact) from what I can tell so that is indeed odd. If you have a ticket number let me know, if not you can open one and support will help you.chrisby wrote:Not trying to relight any flame-wars here, just a sincere question (and I did read through a bunch of these posts). There was a lot of discussion here about Black 76 and White 2A and we've updated to model the full signal path and thus all of the saturation nuances of the entire unit.HcDoom wrote:It says on IK website that they've updated Black76 and White2A, what exactly did they update? Can't find any info there, that website is such a mess!

I'd love to be able to discuss sound quality, but unfortunately still getting runtime error on Restore gear on Win7 64bit and tech support asked me to do stuff that was posted here ages ago. Very disappointing.
Don't get me wrong --- as far as modelling goes I really appreciate what IK do, but the integration into operating systems has always been a bit dodgy --
try uninstallling T-Racks CS and see what is left in registry, it really surprised me.
The reason I went to the registry was that having uninstalled T-racks CS, when I reinstalled and tried restoring gear the dialog box was showing paths that I had previously picked but no longer existed --- the only way to get it back to default was to go through registry deleting all instances of Custom Shop and T-racks CS --- Not good.
Hope they get this fixed soon as I'm beginning to regret spending my money on this.

For me it works fortunately, also win 7 64bit. But when i clicked Restore my gear it showed two different paths in the pop-up window: My normal vst folder where IKM is installed, and also a Program Files/Steinberg/vstplugins folder that doesn't exists. I don't even own any Steinberg software nor had i installed it at any point. My current win7 installation is hardly 2 months old.Oscat01 wrote:I'd love to be able to discuss sound quality, but unfortunately still getting runtime error on Restore gear on Win7 64bit and tech support asked me to do stuff that was posted here ages ago. Bottom line, perhaps IKM's "looking up the VST installation folder" function is broken.
And please dev's, stop defaulting vst installations to Program Files/Steinberg blabla.
**EDIT**
Check this path in your registry, and change it (if necessary) to your VST folder location. Then after that, reboot and try again to Restore my Gear.
Backup your registry before changing things if you're not comfortable with it.
Win 64-bit:
64-bit plugins path = HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\VST
32-bit plugins path = HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\VST
