I know that with certain issues Support has been able to provide an updated executable. I believe that's mainly the XP problems but worth a look. I hope the plugin location issue has been reported, though, because that's the way things will get looked at after verified by them. Thanks. I wouldn't go changing registry values without first checking with support.

Also, anything you say is left behind on your system by an uninstaller should be reported then so it can be verified if a global issue and taken care of. Edit - and any of these reports by users via the trackable system will add weight even though I've forwarded the information onward.

For me it works fortunately, also win 7 64bit. But when i clicked Restore my gear it showed two different paths in the pop-up window: My normal vst folder where IKM is installed, and also a Program Files/Steinberg/vstplugins folder that doesn't exists. I don't even own any Steinberg software nor had i installed it at any point. My current win7 installation is hardly 2 months old.

Bottom line, perhaps IKM's "looking up the VST installation folder" function is broken.[quote="zeep"]

Thanks Zeep, Yes those are the default paths, what happens sometimes is if I pick a custom path and then get a runtime error, then uninstall, restart then reinstall the dialog SOMETIMES but not always shows the custom paths picked previously -- this surely should not happen after a reinstall.
It wont worry me once I have it working and installed but at present it's a pain.

I have sent alot of info to support, but it is a soulless unrewarding experience, I will send this but fear I will hear nothing yet again -- not Paul's fault, he can only pass on what he is told.
Have tried new executables but no go unfortunately.

Sorry if this has been covered in an earlier post (I haven't had time to read through all 35 pages of this thread). I already owned the CSR reverbs, as well as the TRacks deluxe set, including the Black and White. I downloaded the TRacks CS, and see that my previous purchases are represented here and usable. When I went to run my old CSR VST, however, it is asking me to authorize again. Is this normal? Can I not use my previous CSR or TRacks VSTs any more? I tried authorizing, but the authorization did not stick (it asked me for authorization the very next time I tried loading the CSR VST).

Thanks!

Your previous plugins should be usable, according to what I've seen. You should report this to Tech Support so they can figure it out one-on-one. Thanks!

i have tested some things now and got it working with the following steps:

1. just installing the whole CS package again (it also works without uninstalling the previous CustomShop version)
2. leave ALL settings on default, e.g.:
install RTAS plugin even though it is not required;
install Quicktime although it is installed;
also install Auth-Manager again...

... and what can i say - IT WORKS NOW!

In the first few tries i installed the Auth-Manager at the first
place, because there is a newer version on your website to download.
Then i installed Quicktime separatly and THEN T-RackS CS as last step,
without RTAS, Quicktime and Auth-Manager.
I hope that helps a little, my problems are solved anyway! :D

Good luck,
M.

You are a Star --- I just reinstalled whole package over the top (ie don't uninstall first) and ticked RTAS and blow me down it worked, why RTAS is needed on a windows machine to install properly could do with an explanation from support :shock: --- but no more runtime error and I chose custom path --- Thank you very much.

Now I need to work out why it wont upgrade to grand.

Probably not so much an explanation but exploration. I'm sure it isn't intentional. This would be good to report to them, I'll send it on over. Thanks!

chrisby wrote:Not trying to relight any flame-wars here, just a sincere question (and I did read through a bunch of these posts). Anyway, I rebuilt my DAW a few months ago and re-registered all my t-racks components (standard plus all the singles in deluxe). Tonight I tried to use the metering/shell plug and got a message that it was not authorized. Went to authorize and it says I have to upgrade to CS. Not a big deal 'cause I just used a different tool, but is that really the deal? I'm pretty sure I reauth'ed when I rebuilt my machine but possibly I missed the shell (though pretty sure not). All the other singles still work. Kind of annoying if I need to dl/install the whole CS just to use the stuff I already bought... but I'm guessing it's just as likely that I messed up when I re-installed and now it's too late if I still want to use the shell. Anybody know for sure? Thx
If you are trying to use T-RackS 3 metering/shell you should have no need to have T-RackS CS installed because T-RackS CS is a separate release (to keep your previous projects intact) from what I can tell so that is indeed odd. If you have a ticket number let me know, if not you can open one and support will help you.
Weird... not a big enough issue to open a ticket on though (for me, I can work around). It sounds like it should be working as I'd have expected but for whatever reason it isn't. It's possible I didn't re-authorize when I rebuilt so it could just be that. Regardless, when I absolutely have to use the shell again I guess I'll do the upgrade then. Anyway, thanks for the reply...

Looks like this was posted on our forum as well. Support is aware and note that it doesn't seem to work in every case so it is indeed odd and they will continue to work on finding a solution.

Where and how are you using these new modules? Quad Series video for those that didn't see and want to:

Post

I'm doing tests of the new quad series. Comparing the multiband compressor and limiter with other similar plugins that i like. Such as the powercore Master X5.

LOLZ! Sounds like a radio commercial :lol:

The limiter one sounds better w/o, but I'm sure that has nothing to do with the plug. I'm interested in the spatial one. I got the brainworx one on the PIA xmas deal but it's kinda limited. We'll see.

I was wondering if an updated T-rackS book is in the works, something that may cover everything available through the CS launch. I'm a total noob and heavily rely on presets to get myself orientated, and would like to get more in depth and i might as well have a book that directly references the gear i have available.
If you have requests for Korg VST features or changes, they are listening at https://support.korguser.net/hc/en-us/requests/new

That's something we could talk to Bobby Owsinski about. Of course, with new T-RackS CS models coming out every few months, that will be a lot of editions!
