I kept it pretty reasonable this year.

I bought:

Komplete 8 Crossgrade during their 50%-off sale.
Upgrade to Cubase 7.
Zebra2 (again).
Pianoteq 3 Play with free upgrade to Pianoteq 4 Stage.
Warmverb
Amplitube 3
Several T-RackS and CSR plugs from IK's Custom Shop.
Several soundsets for various synths.
[EDIT] Oops, forgot that I also purchased P-Bass and J-Bass from the Marketplace for a VERY good price.

All-in-all I'm pretty happy with my purchases this year. :)

How is the Roots SDX? I keep eyeing it, but don't have a need for it immediately.

Cubase Elements 6
NI FM8
NI Razor
Cakewalk Rapture
IL Harmor
<Edit>
IL Morphine <-- Damn! I've just bought it! I'm going to take my dose till next year!
</Edit>
Cubase Elements is a pleasure to work with in spite of its limitations. My favourite synths are FM8/Harmor but I really like all I bought.

I hope I didn't forget anything... this year I really boosted my setup and now I would say it's nearly complete... I will buy new things if I think they are really useful and if they have the right price, but I don't feel the urgence of acquiring new software at the moment (I'm probably looking for a few hardware things in 2013)...

So, my 2012 purchases:

Mac Software:
- FXPansion Etch (no brainer)
- FXPansion Geist (Black Friday sale)
- Waves L1, MondoMod and SuperTap (while on sale)
- Tracktor Pro 2 (half price during Black Friday)
- DDMF 6144
- Cakewalk z3t4+ v2
- SKNote THD
- Klanghelm DC8C
- TB ReelBus
- TAL-U-NO-LX
- IK Sonic Synth (while on sale)
- D16 Drumazon (2nd hand on Markeplace)

Other Mac software:
-Korg M1 Le and AAS Lounge Lizard Session (since I bought a Nanopad2, I didn't install the other bundled software since it didn't interest me or I already had the full version)
- Tone2 BiFilter 2 (on CM182 cover disk)

SoundLibraries (drum sounds and impulse response):
- MoReVoX MSP and Retroverb (while on sale)
- Loopmasters Santos Private Tech House Collection (one shots and sampler patches only)
- Loopmasters Freemasons 100% Remix Tools (one shots and sampler patches only)
- Zenhiser Vinyl House Drum Samples (waste of money since I didn't find it useful as I thought)
- Keith LeBlanc's drums vol 8, 9, 11C, 11D, 12D (to sample drum hits from them)
PureMagnetik Analog Fix (Black Friday Sale)

iPod Touch software:
- Propellerheads Rebirth (thought I would have used, but I didn't... at least I have it ready on a device in case of need, since I don't have any Windows pc around)
- Hexler TouchOSC
- IK DJRig (bought during a sale, then IK had an even better sale :? ... I though that a toy such as that could be useful sometimes...)

Post

I sold a bunch of stuff, and I bought a bunch of stuff... it all kinda evens out this year... I'm getting better.

Izotope Ozone, Alloy, Iris and Trash 2
Sample libs: Rust 3, some Embertone stuff, Miroslav Philharmonik, Hollow Sun MLM bundle, Wave Alchemy SFX 2, ET Medieval Legends
Komplete 8 upgrade
Oxium
TAL UNO LX
BX Saturator and SPL TwinTube
Fabfilter Saturn and FX bundle
The Drop
FXPansion Maul and Etch
psyGen
2C B2
Valhalla Vintage

Ah geez, now that I add it all up.... even though I got all of these at sale prices and/or second hand, it's still a lot. Making the switch to do nearly all of my mixing and mastering with Izotope was a good move, though. Very happy with these plugins.

My new year's resolution: focus on what I REALLY need. Which is a decent orchestral library including solo instruments, plus maybe a choir library, and those don't come cheap.

Until the latter part of this year, I refrained from purchasing any new items for approximately two years. Therefore, my purchases were rather on the high side for 2012. However, most purchases were related to REs, which transformed Reason to what I always wanted from the application.

Most other purchases were made to replace applications where support and further development has been lacking over the years, such as Acid Pro 7 and various VSTs that have not been converted to 64-bits.

Needless to say, purchases in 2013 will be minimal.

I started my music hobby this year so I bought lots of stuff. Well the good news is that I may not buy anything 2013 (yeah sure  )

Instruments:
MachFive 3
Omnisphere
Diva
SampleTron
SSD 4 ES

Effects:
SilverLine Bundle
Fabfilter Mixing Bundle (v1)
ValhallaRoom
ValhallaVintageVerb

DAW:
Studio One 2.5 Producer

Also sold some stuff (Arturia AE The Laboratory etc.)

Everything was on sale or was used so I saved a lot of money. The first thing I paid the whole price was Vee3 and $50 is still a bargain.

Next I have to learn how to make music. :D

Forgot to add Diversion!
What a sound man!
Great buy at an amazing discount.

I bought very little in software this year; only the Reason upgrade and the Arturia V Collection. My NFR list's quite a bit longer, though.

Hardware- now that's a completely different matter... :help:

Bought a load of stuff included DC8C, FF Pro pack (made all the difference) and VCC plus some add on packs for Alchemy, oh and some waves stuff. I feel I am now only lacking one thing for my setup which will be Arc 2 when I can afford it. I am hoping it will be on sale sometime. Other than that 2013 will be about expanding my music theory and writing some more plugins of my own.

Demo'd a lot this year but realised the tools I have work mighty fine already if I just use them properly.

Purchases limited too:

AD Eos
AD Ronin
Toraverb
Couple of issues of CM.
Studio One Artist

think that's it...

Sold a few bits too, AAS VA-1, Toraverb :), RP-Delay (which I now want again, oh why didn't I listen to jethrobull... :hihi:)

For my minimal dabblings, the deluge of freebies this year was pretty amazing, probably list Dune BE as the best, can't believe that's free.
